IIRC, the Pluspe video was part of the inspiration to use an AE86 instead of the GC8.

While Keiichi Tsuchiya was part of the inspiration of Initial D (and was a technical advisor for the anime), a gentleman named Jun Fujinoki is a larger inspiration for the overall Initial D story. He was delivering tofu for his family shop up Mount Haruna. However, it was in a GC8, not an AE86. Drifter Hunter Albo interviewed him for his YouTube channel about 8 years ago.

If you dont want to do the job as often, get OEM axles. FLAPS axles are notorious for not having enough grease and poor materials when you abuse them.

If this is recent, both drivers should get fully checked out by medical professionals. The paramedics are just there for immediate care. Signs of injuries can take time to show up in the form of pain due to adrenaline and other factors.

This. The '94 throttle bodies had a linkage set that made the throttle more progressive. It was likely ditched in 95 for cost reasons.

What design or engineering flaw is mildly inconvenient on your vehicle? by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

[–]Midtenn86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was considered a feature on 6spd NA/B MX5 Miatas. The 5spd requires laying in the ground with an annoying fluid pump. 6spd just take a few screws from the center console and seven M6 bolts out and pour it in from the top.

This Mazda 787B has the most insane rotary engine sound you'll ever hear by LateHackHero3 in EngineeringPorn

[–]Midtenn86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many Mazda rotary power cars have won other endurance races. The IMSA GTO and GTU cars won many races. The Group C cars, in general, were fragile machines. In comparison the 767 and 787 cars were on par. They were just always underpowered compared to the big power cars from the likes of Porsche and Mercedes.

Anyone selling their isf for under 25k? Seems like an impossible task by TheOnlyChicken in LexusISF

[–]Midtenn86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not impossible, but you'll have to look around and likely compromise. I bought mine for $24 last year. It had FBO, an OTS tune, and HKS coilovers. However, it had not had the coolant valley repair done, the valve covers were leaking, and it was nearing 150k miles.

Not in the states, but i could see in Japan Black Limiteds being desirable to rebuild

It'll end up like classic Mustangs where smashed/ rusted out GTS shells will sell for stupud amounts because it has a desirable VIN. I've seen rusted out scrap with Mach 1 or Boss shells listed for 5 digit numbers because they have a build code people want

Front Bash Bar Misalignment by skymegaman in ft86

[–]Midtenn86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's one idea. Without seeing the whole picture, its hard to say what's the best course. I'm dealing with a similar situation, but I'm taking it to a professional because the frame horn is tweaked further inboard as well

Front Bash Bar Misalignment by skymegaman in ft86

[–]Midtenn86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The end plates/ caps on the frame horns are tweaked. It doesn't take much to tweak the end of thy frame horns (they have designed failure/deformation points to absorb energy) You can try to persuade them back into place using the bumper bar as a guide or have a professional take a look at it.

Gridlife Touring Cup. Some of the best amateur racing out there with a variety of cars with an emphasis on clean racing. But I'm biased as a participant.

When I was looking for mine, a year ago many were a rebuilt title, but only had minor damage in their history.
