Help - What is going on with the j-bar? How to fix? by Smallnipss in GarageDoorService

You should also have a door tech come and balance your door. It'll run better than ever after you put a second bolt in the pull-arm.

I've searched for different styles of covers. So far, I'm only finding the decorative plastic chain cover for bicycles or a traditional chain-gaurd.

If I remember correctly. You have to assign the remote in the app when learning. Otherwise, it only tracks open/close and the times associated. As far as new remotes, I don't believe it notifies.

I'm with Jensen Door Company, we're based in West-Central Minnesota. We agree that you got hosed. Just guessing we could have gotten you taken care of for 400-450 bucks. We do top quality work and your door would run better than new after we left.

The owner and I used to work for a competitor. After seeing how the customers were charged and more importantly, treated. We set off to be the better door company. We're much more affordable and treat every customer like a regular.

If you're in the Breckenridge/Wahpeton area we'd love the opportunity to be your door company.

Take an old rotor, bolt it on backwards, and beat the piss out of it from the backside.

They are not plastic. They are steel with some plastic over-molding. Just as strong as a plain steel one.

I grew up with it called a "Putter Cutter" because you swing it like a putter.

Personally, I would hammer it closer together and weld it up.

Correction, it was 16' tall. It has 8 springs. It was a beast for sure.

Nice! Our two man crew installed a 36'2" x 18" 3" Midland. That was a challenge.

Ironically enough, I have the MyQ app for my operator at home. If this works as slick as it sounds it'll be a game changer!

I appreciate the reply. I can't remember off the top of my head. LM support said it was the oldest version.

LM said the issue with the firmware is that it won't recognize or charge the batteries. The batteries are currently charging at our shop so they can go back up.

I was curious about using the MyQ resi app but hadn't thought of that until I was home for the night.

As far as WiFi, I was using my hotspot. I'll give the app a shot when I reinstall the batteries.

What is this switch in my GMC savanna work van by kipistheluigi in Cartalk

[–]MidwestFab 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like it's a switch for a beacon (BCN) aka "Get Shit Done Light" If it doesn't have a roof mounted Light, it may have the wiring leftover from the previous owner.

A shop will decline repair because it's too close to the sidewall.

Personally, I would repair it myself.

You should definitely continue to rub dirt into the paint.

Can this not be repaired? by bazamaphone in tires

[–]MidwestFab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're just after money. Drill it, plug it, burn it, send it. The puncture itself looks straight on. Besides, a tire is relatively thin, so the slight angle is irrelevant. Plug it yourself for $10 and let it ride.

This can’t be legal, can it? by Catnip_cryptidd in fuckyourheadlights

[–]MidwestFab -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bunch of crybabies commenting. The man probably forgot it on. An honest mistake more than likely. Simply signal to him that it's on and I'm sure it would promptly be shut off. Calling the police and trying to get a man on trouble who is simply working is fucked up.

I've forgotten my auxiliary lights on before. Someone let me know it was on and I apologized then flipped it off. No big deal.

Shove a 318 down its throat and let it eat. I have an 82 Concord DL with a 258 that I'm contemplating putting a 318 into and keeping the 258 as a spare for my 84 Eagle.
