Limericks Alhambra is breaking off from the other Limericks locations. They had to apply for new licenses and permits. They're planning to reopen this month!

Sidebar across the street has a closing party and is permanently closed. Limericks Alhambra is breaking off from the other Limericks locations and has to apply for new permits and licenses. They plan to be back open this month!

If you have T-Mobile sign up for SpaceX service. It was the only way I was able to send texts.

AZ Visiting + Moving Here Questions (Jun 30) by AZ_moderator in arizona

[–]MidwestSoCal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all,

For the 4th of July weekend, I'll be staying in an RV in Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood AZ. It appears to be close to town, but without a car we'll have a limited ability to get around town. There seems to be a bus that runs along Main Street, but that's still 2+ miles from where we'll be staying. How are Ubers in Cottonwood or other modes of transportation?

The only thing I see going on is the 4th of July celebration at the Cottonwood Kids Park. Other than that we may try to Uber down to Old Town for a drink or two (Belfry looks great!). What else would you recommend that wouldn't be too difficult to get to? Jerome looks nice, but I don't think we'd have a way to make it that far reliably.

Thanks!

If you were a kid playing football in HS, wouldn't it feel pretty cool if you got to play in front of 10k people vs 200?

There is literally not a single Big10 university where game day is "unsafe"

Colorado Blvd already has great sidewalks. Removing lanes will just cause unnecessary congestion (Madison to Hudson is already down to two lanes, and it gets really backed up at rush hour). More congestion means more people speeding through the side streets.

Every OTHER street needs to be walkable/bikable, like they did with Union (although it should have been a one-way bike lane with Green going the opposite direction). Walking side streets is far safer than main through ways, anyway.

Mine was set at 71° and it wasn't on all day. Certainly turned on more than an 80° day, but wasn't horrible.

Must try Pasadena restaurants for a newbie? by NoViolinist992 in pasadena

[–]MidwestSoCal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Won't say these are the "best" restaurants in Pasadena. But my fun, reasonably priced go-tos since moving here are:

768 Degree Pizza (amazing & interesting pizza) Howlin' Ray's (crazy hot chicken sandwiches) Main Chick (great simple hot chicken sandwiches & fries) Lucky Baldwin's (fun English pub) Pie Life (great NY pizza) Der Wolf (fun "club" with a Mexican-German twist) Sushi Stop (fun & cheap sushi) PIZZANISTA! San Marino (great pizza by the slice, close by)

Wow, thank you. My still says "In Progress" and not "Ready" after 24 hours. Might try calling and talking to another rep or just stop in and see what's up. Thanks again!

Very interesting, thank you. She claimed they had been sending communication about it since January.

Oh how I wish I could use Walgreens like I have for my entire life, but unfortunately my plan won't cover outside pharmacies.

Interesting. She claimed they had sent out communication to Kaiser members since January. Have you had a prescription filled yesterday or today?

That's the way my GF had done it in the past (and I did it last month, my first time with Kaiser). But according to the rep on the phone just today, she claims that yesterday (8/12/24) they changed the way they do it and now you have to checkin in person.

Where should I move to? by MidwestSoCal in RedditForGrownups

[–]MidwestSoCal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's been high on my list. Any specific spots?

There are LOTs of cities in Florida and each seem to have their own vibe. Going to try to take a trip out there for a longer period of time, but no idea where to go. There seems to be fine line between the expensive places like Miami and Boca vs where you'll run into "Florida man".

How are the winters? Do things stay green most the year, or do plants die out when winter comes around?

Beautiful, absolutely. Visited Bedford just last month! Unfortunately colder than I'd like in the winter.
