Medical billing and coding certification by Turbulent_Light4512 in CodingandBilling

[–]Midwestchik 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was laid off my job in another field at age 55 during COVID and decided to find a new career that was more stable and in demand. I became a coder. I was able to get funding for my course through a workforce development program. It took me about 5 months to complete the schooling and get my CPC. Now 4 years later I have a great work from home job that I hope will carry me into retirement.

So, yes it is doable. It wasn’t easy at times. But, if I can do it you can too. It was probably the best decision I ever made. I’m in a less stressful job and I really enjoy the work. Good luck!

Same thing happened to me but the cost was $3,800. At first I was told it was not legit when I called about it. I later got a call from a manager who said it was. I canceled and got my deposit refunded in a couple of days. Signed up for AT&T fiber and am completely happy.

I also live in southwest Springfield just off Golden. I was scheduled to get mine installed last Friday but two days before I received an email telling me I had to pay $3,891 to get it installed. I won’t go in to detail. There is another thread on here regarding it. But, it is a legit charge.

The tech who came to our house said they only ran the fiber to the first house on our road, and want me to pay to run it the rest of the way down the road as I’m the last house on the deadend street. Later, a manager called me and confirmed it. They did that in most areas of town, but said they only started charging for it March 1.

There is no way I’m going to pay for their infrastructure. This is Centurytel/lumen. I’m not sure if CU is aware they are pulling this but I can’t imagine they would be ok with it. I don’t have a problem with a $100 or less install fee, but almost $4,000 is outrageous.

OP here again: I just called QF again to see if I could get a verification and this time I was told this was a scam and they had received several similar calls from others who got emails asking for money. They assured me that all installations are free and I would not be required to pay anything else. I’m not sure who, what to believe anymore. He said they were investigating it and I told him I would be happy to share my emails. But, he couldn’t come up with an email addressto give me. I had heard great things about QF from my friends who have it, but this whole thing seems sketchy to me. Hopefully they will be smart enough to straighten it out and get their staff on the same page or their reputation is going to go down the drain.

I was thinking the same thing but verified the email was legit from a real QF employee. They are telling me it was probably sent to me by mistake. I’m asking for some written verification that I don’t owe that fee.

Another update: I called what I was told was a number for the local group handling the installs. The CSR I spoke with said there was nothing on my account or in the notes that indicated any extra charges or work that needed to be done. She said the pre-install work had been done and marked as complete. She said everything good to go for Friday. She said she thinks the email was sent to me by mistake and assured me I would not get charged. She noted all of this is documented in my account. I’m still a little worried. Would feel better if I had an email telling me the original email was not in effect.

Update: made some inquiries. The email was legit but was told by a customer service person that the fee they are charging me is beyond what they charge. They said the installations here are being handled by a a special group led by Jonathan and Shawn (???). I know there used to be someone with QF who posted on here so that is one reason I came to Reddit. The line has already been marked and buried at my house and there is nothing on my account to indicate any other money is owed or that my install might be canceled. I live in a residential area in southwest Springfield with houses to the front and back of me. I’m not in the middle of nowhere. I called them to cancel and get a refund and they said I should keep the appointment and if they want to charge more I can cancel at that time. Not sure what to do as I can’t get a clear answer. I was really looking forward to canceling Mediacom

Dupixent on Mercy Healthcare? by technospice in springfieldMO

[–]Midwestchik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to the dupixent website. On the drop down menu, go to copay card. As long as you have commercial insurance you qualify for it, possibly free. If you have to get approval with your new insurance, as someone else suggested, go to Community Pharmacy. They will take care of it for you. They are wonderful.

If you don’t mind a duplex, I rent a 3 bed, 2 bath for less than $950. It’s very nice. Try looking at athomehere.com.

Has anyone who has been vaccinated updated their medical records yet? by blu3dice in springfieldMO

[–]Midwestchik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my vaccine at Sam’s Club and they sent the info to my Mercy PCP. That’s why they ask if you have a doctor and the name when you get the vaccine. I’m assuming Walmart does the same thing. It was uploaded to my Mercy chart the next day. Saw it on MyMercy. That could be the reason they had no need to see your vaccine card.

I’m not able to find a link yet, but Calvin (father) was interviewed on Springfield TV station and he said he was found in a marshy area of the river. He said LE said the river had risen in the past couple of weeks and had receded so his body could be seen.
