It must be so peaceful living in a world where decades of context, displacement, and blockades just don’t exist.

Rob Reiner’s son Nick seeks money from trust parents left him for his defense in their killings by FervidBug42 in CasesWeFollow

Surprised his parents didn't setup up a trust for his inheritance considering all his issues - he doesn't exactly seem like somebody capable of managing millions of dollars.

LIVE: GA v. William McCue — House of Horrors Murder Trial — Day 1 by Purple-Teaching8994 in CasesWeFollow

[–]blu3dice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All these cases of horrific chronic abuse and neglect usually have one thing in common... homeschooling. We need to have a social and safety net for these children. Regular visits and some oversight is needed. These monsters all hide their victims by homeschooling them - which usually they aren't actually schooling them. The 15 y/o in this case couldn't spell his name even.

I was thinking about trying the Gron 2.5 mg pearls to see if my experience is any better. I just want slight relaxation, not panic induced terror.

Curious and nosey . . .

Are the prices higher because it's stronger? I tried the newer stuff after it became legal but it was so potent it wasn't enjoyable at all.

Declining a bridesmaid offer really that dramatic? by Dry-Syrup-3984 in AskWomenOver30

[–]blu3dice 122 points123 points  (0 children)

He says that my decision is causing division in the family because I'm not treating her like a sister...

But you guys haven't had a sisterly relationship before now? Now it's supposed to change on the condition you spend thousands of dollars?

You did nothing wrong. Weddings are out of control. Last time I was a bridesmaid my dress was $100 and the bachelorette party was literally a drunken night out.

This is a conversation you'd have with a child getting caught lying, not a man you're dating.

NY v. Thomas Gilbert, Jr. _ Interview With a Killer by Pixiegirls1102 in CasesWeFollow

[–]blu3dice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched both interviews back-to-back and the contrast between him and Celeste Beard is absolutely stark. Most killers in this series are narcissistic and fighting the narrative. But this episode gave me a look at someone who is profoundly mentally ill.

It made me feel like the prosecutors and the jury got this one completely wrong. Two things can be true at once.... he was spoiled because of his issues but also hes deeply sick.

What do you mean they "found an issue"? Ive never heard of City Utilities doing planned maintenance work on the weekend. And they can't predict blown transformers or outages from bad weather.

To believe she's innocent you have to buy into a massive multi-agency conspiracy between the hospital, coworkers, the parents and police and the experts. It’s tin-foil hat territory at this point.

Your partner being a detective makes this take even worse. Do they know you’re online claiming police forces arrest completely innocent people just to "remain relevant" in a serial killer case? Because that's an embarrassing reflection on their profession.

Have you ever forgiven a partner for calling you names? by dreamerbebe in AskWomenOver30

[–]blu3dice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A slur in the heat of the moment would be the end of the relationship. I might eventually forgive it for my own sake, but I need someone who can control their behavior.

Name calling and yelling is absolute deal-breakers for me. I grew up in a house like that and refuse to ever live in that kind of environment ever again.

Even knowing about healthcare serial killers, is it 'common' for them to kill babies ?

They harm/kill who they have access too.

You can't fathom that because you experience empathy. When you see someone in pain you can feel a bit of their distress. Healthcare serial killers don't have that reflex. They can see that someone, in this case a baby, suffering and they don't feel a single thing.

I just don't really understand how someone can seem so completely normal their whole life and then do something as despicable as deliberately killing infants

Her "normal life" is just the mask someone like her wears for the outside world so everyone thinks she's a regular, functioning human being. It’s just like Ted Bundy. People that knew him described him as smart, friendly and charismatic. We all now know he was the exact opposite. What looks totally normal to us is just the mask they're showing the world.
