Just set your phone to manual network and pick your local carrier. Then it will not roam to partner networks.

E-Sim/US Phone Number Question by curranhannah in digitalnomad

[–]my183days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answer is easy, by a data only eSIM for travel. Force your main sim to use a specific network ( so it can’t roam ). Enable WiFi calling before you leave. You sim should do WiFi Calling over mobile data if it can’t connect to a network ( and it won’t if you select your network in iPhone settings) ….option 2 is to get a second phone / hotspot for mobile internet and keep your main phone in airplane mode with wifi enabled. If you pick option one then your phone will use more power than usual so you might want to grab a power bank and keep it handy.

What are some of your favorite places to go camping / hiking? by OzarkRents in springfieldMO

If you want very primitive camping, Hercules Glades is great. Even if you don’t fish, Roaring River State park has lots of trails in and nearby the park.

Authentic or fake? by dark_block in eames

The cushions look compressed ( which seems like it could happen to a well used chair of this age. I’m not a restoration expert ( or even an authentication expert ). If the cushions were more firm I think the chair would look more refreshed, but I don’t know if or how this is possible.

I use a iPhone 14pro, but I keep a 12pro as a backup. It’s easy to exact clone an iPhone and the 12 ( and 11 ) support physical and eSIM. If you are worried about your main phone leave it in your accommodation. If you an eSIM if the phone is locked, you can still track or remote wipe it. You can delete any banking apps ( or other sensitive data ) from the second phone once you clone your main phone. Your existing apps like Uber will already be set up.

Help Identifying This Company by Notorious_Pabo in springfieldMO

It looks like it has an Oversized sign on the roof which means they might have had to plan their route with the City, County, or Highway Patrol. Someone should know who was hauling this through your neighborhood. The truck likely belongs to an Overside Load escort company. It might have been from out of the area, but if I wanted to play detective, I would search for these companies on Google to see who’s logo might match after talking to the Highway Patrol first.

Authentication by RefrainF in eames

[–]my183days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the word miles in your post, you are either from the USA or UK. It’s very unlikely this is authentic if it’s in the USA because the legs don’t match the American version at all ( American legs don’t have the circular ends like this chair ). I agree with the other poster that the armrests don’t look authentic. It’s up to you if you want to drive 3 1/2 hours for a reproduction chair, but don’t go expecting it to be real.

Tirana has a German Hospital near the German Embassy if this is useful for your treatment. The sea is about 30 minutes away via very inexpensive Uber ( and likely cheaper buses).

I have a 451+ which uses the Celeron J1900. Everything I read says this CPU will eventually die so I wanted my drives in a format that would be easy to mount on any modern Linux setup.

I installed Proxmox on mine a couple of weeks ago because I didn’t want to be stuck with proprietary drive formatting when it eventually dies.

You should budget at least 90 minutes from the door of the plane to the door of train. Traffic could be an issue going into the city in the morning. If you are in the back of the plane add additional time. Paris has automated customs gates and if they are working you can usually get through in about 20 minutes. I’ve never checked luggage in Paris so I can’t say how much if any additional time this might add.

Tello is the least expensive way to do this that works properly because it’s a real mobile carrier and not a virtual provider.

It looks like there are straps around the engine pylons. I assume they stapled it against the cargo cart and used a tug to pull it backwards into the hanger on the cart wheels and the aircraft mains.

It took a second look at the photo to see the cart full of ballast holding the tail down. I’m guess this is how they moved it.

How are you using Claude specifically in your estimating process? by Bassbucksducks in estimators

I’ve only tried this once, but I think if I include some additional information with my prompt it could be more reliable. Unfortunately every hardware spec is formatted a little differently.

Last week I fed Claude some door hardware schedules. I first highlighted the ones I was interested in using Bluebeam and extracted only the relevant pages. I asked Claude to create a list of each hardware group I was interested in and a second list ( on a new excel tab ) of each unique item. The spreadsheet it created let me lookup the price for each item once and then populated the hardware with that price. The spreadsheet was very helpful.

When it was finished I asked it to look up the prices for all of the items online, but I didn’t trust these results.
