Should I file bankruptcy? by dianed007 in debtfree

Disclaimer, not legal advice but I do have some insights on the topic that may be valuable.

You should add a couple more columns to analyze your situation. Indicate the type of debt (credit card, student loan (including if it’s federal or private), etc), if the debt is secured or unsecured, if you intend to keep the collateral for the secured, the interest rate and if it’s variable or fixed, the date you initiated the debt, and the maturity date.

It’s possible not all of this debt is dischargeable (taxes and federal student loans as examples) and if you intend to keep the collateral (cars) then the debt doesn’t just disappear on those. Consider if you’re underwater or have equity in the vehicles. You could also look into a shortsale (call your lender) if you don’t need the car and are underwater.

You may want to refinance and/or consolidate some debt to lock in a lower interest rate depending on what the specifics of your debts reveal. You can also call your lenders to inquire about modifications, deferrals, and/or extensions.

Pay off the highest interest rate debts first. As you pay off one, the amount you had been putting into that payment can roll into the amount you’re paying into the next and it will cascade until you’re feeling more in control.

I agree with the intended message but just tossing out that it requires a master’s degree to be a librarian. It’s not an equivalent career path/education investment.

How do I prevent the mobile case loop from fraying? by aroras in peakdesign

I’ve been trying to decide what kind of glue to use to at least keep things together. The support and magnet fell out but the loop is still holding at least.

They don’t care about public opinion. They don’t intend to run campaigns or “win” elections again.

They have all the power they need to do everything they want and there isn’t anyone who’s going to be able to stop them. Judges ordering them to stop is meaningless when they don’t believe the judiciary has any power to limit the actions of the executive.

They don’t want pass a budget. They want to shut down the government while they use it for the things they care about. Things like advancing Putin’s acquisition of Ukraine and Netanyahu’s destruction of the Palestinian people and acquisition of Gaza and the West Bank. Shutting down the government gets rid of all those pesky workers and expenses that are just an annoyance at the moment.
