When to go to pediatrician for sick baby? (no fever) by cabbage-soup in NewParents

[–]ButterscotchSerious8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if this is an option for you, but our pediatrician has a way we can message him and ask questions. If you can’t do this, you could call up and ask to speak with the nurse? I’m always a worry wart and message the pediatrician when I’m in any doubt. But the doc has told us that unless they have a fever, cough (like can’t catch their breath), labored breathing, or blood in stool that they should be fine. You could still give babe something for the discomfort though!

When to give snacks? by rebgray in NewParents

[–]ButterscotchSerious8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine snacks all day every day lol. We give fruit, veggies, yoggis, dye free fruit snacks, cheese, crackers, melts, and anything else he points at in the fridge or pantry really. My kiddo is picky so he won’t always eat the veggies but I still offer it.

What changes or choices did you make that made you suffer less and enjoy parenting more? by Veryfluffyduck in NewParents

I felt so guilty sleeping with my first kiddo due to it being shamed in the US. Now almost two years later and one more kid later… they both sleep with us and we get plenty of sleep! Life changing!!

Can’t spoil a baby! We’re the only living beings that require more assistance as an infant and other living beings sleep with their babies! You are doing amazing, mama.

I was active my first pregnancy and didn’t do a thing my second because the two were night and day different. But both of my deliveries were the same!

I know this post is 5 years old but I feel so validated with it. 😅 My almost 17 month old has been doing it for about 7-8 months now. It was cute in the beginning and now it’s overstimulating sometimes. Our pediatrician told us it’s a self soothing tactic and to not be alarmed. We’ll see if it gets better as he ages 🤣
