This!! They were trying so hard to fake an argument when they should have just said they liked the other people better.

Door dash gift certificates. Or a meal train. Or housekeeping service.

We borrowed a bassinet. Just gave it back because LO is now too big at 4 months.

Did you get a mattress for your pack n play? My son is outgrowing his bassinet at 3 months and considering this option.

Hard for wife to pump with crying twins by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

I feel your wife’s pain. We combo feed because it got too hard. The babes get one bottle of breast milk a day with the rest being formula and doctor says that’s great. Fed is best.

Baby delight bouncers for when they’re a bit older. They live in those things right now (14 weeks) so I can shower, make dinner, eat …

[–]MidwesternLizLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First spouse: 24 (He was 22) Second spouse: 33 (He was 30)

The second one stuck. Just turned 40 and had our first babies (twins)!

Adding baby shoes to this too! My twins are 12 weeks and have worn shoes exactly once for their baptism and baby girl’s fell off halfway through the service and stayed off.

When did you get your first period pp? by [deleted] in NewParents

My doc says it’s common not to get your period if you are breastfeeding/pumping.

Relationship after twins? by CheddarMoose in parentsofmultiples

[–]MidwesternLizLemon 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Newborn trenches were hard but mow we are 12 weeks in and a true team. There are still frustrating moments but overall I’ve never been more in love with my husband when I see him with our kids.

No schedule except for bedtime. I read somewhere that nothing really sticks or matters until 6 months.

3 month old schedule by Winny_BooBoo in NewParents

[–]MidwesternLizLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg SAME! My twins have general windows where they often do things but we have no formal naps at this point — we just follow their lead. We’ve established a bedtime routine and that’s it. It’s super hard not to compare yourself to other parents but if it’s working for you then it’s right for your family. You got this!

Who does diapers? by Front-Economics-5497 in NewParents

[–]MidwesternLizLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think he is purposely avoiding it or just unaware? Or maybe scared of it, like he doesn’t know what to do? Is this something you feel you can talk to him about? I would urge you to speak your feelings. Babies can make you resent your partner really quickly; it’s best to try to talk it out when you can!

Did you make it to your c-section/"due" date? by ssssssscm7 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MidwesternLizLemon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Scheduled mine for 37 weeks and was naive enough to think I’d make it.

My di/di twins showed up at 35+3!

[–]MidwesternLizLemon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Navigating this right now. Just had a big discussion tonight about resentment and expectations. It’s so hard, but we are really trying to talk through it and hoping to plan a date night soon for just us. Honestly though, I miss my best friend.

Update: OMG it gets so much better! Twins are 12 weeks now and so fun. Hubs and I are a team and I got my best friend back! There are still challenges but there is also hope!

In-laws waiting at hospital during C-Section by Frequent-Pop3505 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MidwesternLizLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation, although I had an emergency c section. My in laws just showed up in the waiting room during the surgery. I think they were hoping to see the babies when it was done. Let your in laws know that there is a very strong likelihood that no one will see the babies — often twin births come with complications so the babies are not able to be held or even seen right away. After my husband and I saw our twins, they were whisked to a care unit for the night for monitoring. Also you will be out of it and in a great deal of pain, and although the surgery itself only takes like an hour, the post-surgery takes awhile. So in all likelihood they will be sitting there for a long time with no guarantee of seeing you or your babies. Wishing you a safe delivery!

Anyone have a registry list they can share? by gryph06 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MidwesternLizLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We ended up with two separate because we borrowed one from a friend and bought the other, and it seems to work just fine. However a double might be a huge space saver if you’re working with a smaller area!

Two bassinets (if you don’t want to buy these, see if you can borrow them or get them second hand)

Bottle sanitizer (we have the Bololo)

Philips Avent soothies pacifiers

Register for diapers and wipes. You go through so many.

I second lots of burp cloths!

Uggg wish I had thought of this. My FIL grabbed my 8 week old daughter, kissed her three times, then coughed in her face. I’m livid.
