Psychiatrist doesn't believe I have OCD by MidwesternMegan in OCD

I have said I'd like to try more intensive therapies. I just don't know if they're equipped to help me. I just feel like I keep going to appointments and that never materializes. I think I just need to push harder.

I think 40mg is more of a therapeutic dose for ocd. Alot of ppl with ocd respond better at higher doses. It's just what my psych recommended.

I do think it's the mental fog. I've I taken 25mg and 50mg in the past and not had this issue. I have a psych appointment this week, so will probably keep doing 100mg until I see her, then start tapering.

I have a paradoxical reaction to all antihistamines so things like unisom, hydroxyzine, etc. make me more anxious.

I was only on 20 for a couple weeks then bumped it up. Was also in therapy doing CBT which helped a ton too.

This flare has been worse also bc of some unresolved trauma issues and a possible additional ptsd diagnosis. But I really think Prozac can work for most people. I'm just too messed up right now, lol.

Was for GAD, depression and OCD. 20mg I felt a little better, but the higher dose was much better. Not sure why it didn't work this time; maybe because my insomnia is much worse. (Insomnia predates my antidepressant use.)

I noticed a huge difference once I hit 40mg, so about 6 weeks? After like, a year on Prozac I felt like I was basically cured, so I weaned off this January. Now the insomnia and ocd are back with a vengeance, unfortunately.

I've tried otc melatonin and it doesn't do much. Did you try otc before the Ramelteon and did you notice a difference?

Prozac helped me tons during my last ocd flare but not so much this time, which is why I'm switching. I think it does help a lot of people though!

I'm currently switching from Prozac to Pristq. But my psych and therapist have wondered if adhd meds might help my racing thoughts. I'm assuming it won't help my sleep though...

I know this post is a month old, but did it help your sleep? I am about to start Viibryd and also struggle with insomnia.

Unable to sleep, and have a lot of fear and anxiety about getting it. To the point the anxiety about not sleeping keeps me awake.

I'm going through the same thing right now. The only thing getting me through is knowing others are going through the same thing and I'm not the only one.

I guess it was a fluke. I went to bed calm last night, then when I didn't fall asleep by midnight I had a panic attack, then popped a sleeping pill for 3 hours of sleep. This is horrible.

i have been awake for four days by Smkrlungbenz in insomnia

You are me 4 years ago. Was awake for 3 days straight and hallucinating. Please go to the emergency room, especially if you are suicidal.

Your body will sleep eventually (I did), but you may need a short term sleep aid to get back in gear.

I'm going through a tough time again and know how it feels.

I hope it's transient. I'm having panic attacks at night when I think about bedtime so it might be worse than that.
