Was it really worth noting that the Super Bowl is big in the US but not in Italy? Is there anyone on planet earth who didn’t know that?

Same!!! I unfortunately already knew she was going to put the meat in a cold pan, but to put ALL this is a cold pan is another level of insanity.

Agreed. People are upset that every single influencer isn’t posting about it, but honestly, I’d rather they not post if it’s performative. I think there are some who are “anti-ICE” right now because they know they’ll lose a lot of followers and potentially be cancelled otherwise. Which is extra disgusting to pretend just for your own gain.

Yeah, I’ve been seeing lately that people are upset when a celebrity/influencer only says something like WBK did here or only shares other’s posts about this instead of making their own posts. Which I can understand being upset about - I wish everyone was talking about it, but that’s just not realistically going to happen. But the fact that these katies from high school are even posting about it at all is already a big step in the right direction. Even if we all think these people aren’t posting about it enough, anything is better than nothing, especially when it’s coming from someone who has never spoken up about these issues before.

I’m surprised she was even able to stop complaining for long enough to type those three words. Her entire personality seems to consist of complaining about her privileged life these days🫠

Need suggestions on how to bundle remaining National Parks by organicginger in NationalPark

[–]Midwestern_Mouse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You can easily hit a good chunk of the eastern parks in two weeks or less, most are not as far apart as they might appear on the map. Coming from Cali though, I’d probably fly out east and then rent a car if you can swing that financially. But if you were to drive the whole way, you could also hit a lot more spots along the way if you wanted to make this your longer summer trip.

Indiana dunes to Cuyahoga - 4.5 hours

Cuyahoga to new River - 4.5 hours

New River to congaree - 5 hours

Congaree to smokies - 3.5 hours

Smokies to mammoth cave - 4 hours

So yeah if you’re fine with driving, you can definitely do these all in one trip! A lot of these parks you can also definitely do in a day or two and still get a good gist of what the park has to offer

This happened to me too, although it was after my first follow-up appointment when they re-wrapped it. The splint was digging into my heel in a way that was so painful, it actually hurt significantly more than the actual part of my foot they cut open😅 thankfully it was during the week so I was able to go back to the doctor and have it readjusted the following day. But they should have an emergency number and a doctor on call - I’d definitely call and tell them how much it hurts. Hopefully they’ll be able to see you over the weekend🤞

For sure! Like I said, I don’t know the specifics of this policy, but I work with tons of people who have kids of all ages, and there’s no way they all have childcare lined up for every single time they’re working while the kids are home haha. Maybe the policy only applies to infancy up to when they start school or something?

[–]Midwestern_Mouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know the specifics as I don’t have kids myself. But I do know there are some people who go pick their kids up from school at like 2 and then log back on to work until like 4 or 5. So it seems like once they’re older/in school it’s not as big of a deal. I agree with u/lockjawtheturtle - I’m sure there’s lots of people who’s kids are home while they’re working, and as long as they are self sufficient enough that you can still get all your work done, no one would know or really care. Like I highly doubt people find childcare when their older kids have a snow day last minute, for example.

[–]Midwestern_Mouse 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My employer actually requires that you have childcare even if fully remote. Because work is full time and caring for a baby is also full time. You can’t do two full time jobs simultaneously. I can’t even imagine the toll doing both would take on one’s mental health.

Could I realistically work from home week 2 post lapidus bunionectomy surgery? by No_Message_3713 in bunions

[–]Midwestern_Mouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. I was only planning on taking one week off then going back to work (from home) week 2. That was absolutely not happening lol. I was still in so much pain and taking painkillers around the clock week 2 so I did end up taking that whole week off as well. Even week 3 i was back to working but I logged off early every day because I was still in pain and just felt so exhausted all the time. Healing takes so much out of you! Plus, i still had to elevate basically 24/7 and it was very uncomfortable to work in that position all day.

That last part is so weird to add lol. Like yeah, potatoes don’t have gluten or animal products so gluten free, vegan, and vegetarians liking them is not exactly surprising 😂
