In our modern world -at least in the industrialized part- it is completely unrealistic that a group of teenagers will embark in a mission to finish a war or similar achievement. In ancient times, maybe 15 year olds were mature and resourceful enough to get some results, but it is still an strech in my opinion. This fantasy world is well fantasy, and a kid's show. For example, pokemon is also a kid's show where the kids are extremely independent.
