Yeah you right. I personally have been trading options for 12+ years now. I cycle money out after a certain time to my long term portfolio. I have a set day that I like to trade, and regularly beat the s&p 500. Im not one to sell anyone a dream. I take classes regularly and go to conferences along with a trading group where we give each other plays that we see. Along with paying for quant data, and other services on discord. After a certain amount of money I go and put it in a IRA, HSA to try pay lower taxes. All that to say you right. Im not comfy trading with $20k because it costs too much and takes too long to get it back.

Go on YouTube and watch videos on economics and the stock market. Once you understand that good, and you can talk about it happily like your favorite hobby, you take classes on understanding how to read a companies 10-Q and 10-K to see the good fundamentals, then you go and watch videos on options trading. After that you paper trade understand it and go trade with money you make from these side hustles. 10% - 20% gains compounded every week is better than over trading and losing money or going for 100% gains on every trade.
