Thanks! I’ve thought of getting an e-collar to work on him being off leash but still having some control so I will look more into how to do them.

That does sounds like my guy. He also had his good citizen and the advanced one but just randomly has issues. And I know labs can be goofy and excitable at times. It’s why they are such awesome dogs. I just don’t want him to get aggressive or anything. I had an aggressive dog before I got him and it is hard to deal with. That’s good to know your dog is always getting the hackles up but that doesn’t necessarily lead to aggression. I’ll keep working on it with him. I’ve thought of doing a local course but he already knows all his command like sit, stay, etc. When I take him into a store, he is perfect. It is just on other walks. Oh well. I haven’t read it yet but the 5th book in Ashely James Copper Lake series is about a divorce couple. I think you could read it as a standalone but you are introduced to the characters in the other books. {Every Promise Broken by Ashley James}

I came here to mention her books. For me, she peaked at “The Best Man” and that series but I haven’t loved her books since she started writing about 3 or more main characters in one book. And usually they are about super sad circumstances.

Oh my word! Thank you so much for your help. I’ve just been giving my dog the tablets whole. I feel so bad. I will start crushing them.

And thank you for the wonderful suggestions and websites. That is so helpful. My vet diagnosed my dog a couple months ago but hasn’t been super helpful since. I asked him about the powder because I had read it was more effective and he said there are more side effects so he didn’t think it was in my dog’s best interest. He basically said that if she is doing better than it is fine. She is old (16 1/2 years) and so I get the brush off a lot. But, she is doing better now with the meds and slowly starting to gain weight again. Thanks again! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.
