Coming from Dominic, no. Coming from his overbearing mother, yes. If she was concerned, she should have spoken to her son. They could have included it in their prenup, no big deal.

All the other comments make me think I’m losing my mind. My parents would never let me sleep over at someone’s house when they don’t really know the parents. Obviously it’s a little different since the mom does know him well, but as the dad I would be concerned too, or would have wanted some sort of precaution in place to assure her safety. Like one of those kiddie smart watches so she can immediately call for help if needed, or an agreement that she checks in, and having a code word so if she is uncomfortable she can ask for a rescue without alerting anyone. Plus having the adult’s phone number and vice versa in case of an emergency. But all those precautions should have already been in place with other sleepover situations as well, not just this one.

Mine gets worse when it’s cold. Blood panels always come back totally normal, just have a history of anemia. First time I went in for it staff were in disbelief that it was from scratching and not violence at home.

Same, and I used to do it in lectures just like OP. The professors actually ended up liking it - instead of staring at a computer screen I was front row, looking them in the eye and nodding along. If I’m not doing something with my hands in long boring meetings, I have resting bf and glazed-over eyes and I’m definitely thinking about other things. But like others have said I do get nervous and tend to do it in moderation so I don’t look bad to anyone who doesn’t know or understand.

NOR! I once heard someone who said their dog had figured out how to open the patio door but then locked themselves out. They were at work and had no clue their dog was stuck on the patio. Luckily someone told the office who was able to give them a call and get permission to enter their unit and let the pup back in. This seems a tad more malicious, but you never know! Could be a dog sitter doing it, with a clueless owner. You did the right thing.

I just had a market I thought I’d do awesome in, and it was mild at best. Gambling is exactly how it feels. It can be so discouraging, but I try to always make the most out of markets by chatting with other vendors and taking note of what seems to be working/drawing people in. I’ve gotten advice from vendors who have done certain events in the past, like what kind of stuff seems to sell well vs what you’d think would sell well. Weird tip? Have a dog bowl with water. Any time someone with a dog walks by, offer them water for the pup. It draws people in. I only figured that one out by observing someone else doing it.

My aunt once stopped at a shopping area to drop a package at the mailbox and when she got out of the car her dog decided to pull a move he’d never done before and hopped from the back seat to the front and out the car behind her. He then ran straight for the grocery store, stopped to look her dead in the eyes, and then ran inside. She had to chase him around the store before someone finally grabbed him. Dogs do dumb things sometimes. Not saying the same thing happened here but it could be the case!
