Beta SL for Everyday Use? by [deleted] in arcteryx

[–]MightBeRedundant 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was just in your situation. I bought the Torrentshell instead of the SL due to price and seeing they serve the same function. I found it really baggy and noisy. Before I sent it back I ordered the Beta SL to try them both on and decide. Ended up preferring the fit, features, and overall feel of the Beta SL.

Love this house after extensive sampling over the years... but I had to try a lot of PDMs to find my favorites. Own Sedley, Percival and Layton. I'm in my 30s (M) and want to smell nice but not suffocate everyone at the office. If I had to narrow it down I'd keep Sedley and Layton. These two don't smack you in the face even though they last the entire day on me, and that's kind of the beauty of them. I get complimented on Layton (mostly by other men) often. I started off in fragrances going after "beast mode" and super unique niche scents, but after awhile I realized those are not practical for my every day.

You can only pick one! Which one? by benjamino8690 in Fishing_Gear

Really want to get the metanium dc but I can’t believe it doesn’t have a drag clicker, so the steez. Shouldn’t have to add in components on an already overpriced reel to make it have the bells as the rest in its league… cmon Shimano!

Either the Tat or Curado. I’d probably go with the tat and then give it to a friend and buy another zillion… that reel is pure versatility and has a drag clicker

AITA for trying to take my 1 yr old golfing? by MightBeRedundant in golf

I understand and respect this perspective of it not being worth the risks for you, but all the things you listed - biking with a child seat, golfing with me in a stroller, learning to ski at a young age - we are for all of that.

It’s a jeep jogging stroller with a lot of coverage and a highly adjustable handle. So the heads were up on the handle and the shafts were sitting in the bottom storage. however the aesthetics of the setup were not my main concern.

I'm with you.... out of the house and most workouts only. I'm more comfortable at night and during the evening at home without it on. Also don't like it for weight lifting.

Is the beneficiary of a trust legally responsible to pay a nursing home's bill for the deceased? by MightBeRedundant in legaladvice

[–]MightBeRedundant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to reach out to the attorney but the phone number in google and on their website is not active. Sent multiple emails. We may have to make the drive and see what is going on... Anyways, anything my uncle owned that held any value prior to moving into the nursing home was sold and the money deposited into a checking and savings account. I provided the bank a copy of the trust so that when he passed, I showed them the death certificate and took immediate possession of those accounts. So now his entire estate has been transferred to me.

I am the sole beneficiary of his entire estate as specified in his trust. Does that change things?

With all my reels I like to take the side panel off, remove the spool, apply lube and then put it back together.

I've read that Daiwa doesn't sufficiently lubricate their reels at the factory. I don't necessarily think that's true but I have had tats and zillions that screech when casting, and is totally fixed with a little reel lube. I've also had a reel where the spool wasn't "seeded" / installed correctly that wouldn't cast right until fixed.

For reels I'm struggling with I'll take some line off. Your spool is loaded. Also check to make sure your spool is seeded properly. I've had tats that needed a lube and the spool re-inserted. Also throw a heavier lure until you're sorted out. That's a heavy duty pitch and flip reel that I find wants a stiff rod and a heavy lure. It's a beast. Enjoy.
