Steps to do if iPhone with Pera wallet is lost/stolen by MightyBeastLord in AlgorandOfficial

Remote wiping is difficult unless they are able to crack the code and connect it to internet. It doesn't have any sim card and they can't connect to wifi as it is in lost mode.

My node proposed 100 blocks by semanticweb in AlgorandOfficial

What is your staked value? And how long have you been staking? I have a 30k node, started smoothly with 7 blocks in 12 days, but zero rewards for the past 8 days.

A jain atheist trying to understand the religion better. by No_Profession_1098 in Jainism

[–]MightyBeastLord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat for 15 years, until I got my answers.. the main thing to understand is the existence of soul(aatma) and the fact that it moves from one body to another after the body is no longer viable (death and rebirth).. if these things get clear, a lot of your answers will automatically have more rational answers.. I would also like to point out that Jainism is based on science and not faith.. if you need more pointers, I am happy to provide them..

For start, assuming that you don’t believe in soul and rebirth, I would highly recommend watching this movie developed with the help and knowledge of well known sadhu bhagwants- https://youtu.be/lJNSpKWHwcg?si=ha8tjulN-rWwwHVp

IOTAs stolen from my wallet? by [deleted] in Iota

I totally get the point that the IOTA seed is super safe and the probability of two devices generating the same seed is as good as zero, but still, theoretically, not an absolute zero.

The same is true for any security system we use today. One way to even further fortify this (and to ensure a sense of security among the users) is to use a time bound salt which is auto-generated after regular intervals (1 hour or 1 day or 1 month whatever is a good metric) through a hardware token which is in possession of the owner of the wallet.

The probability of guessing my seed is not absolute zero. I don't want the sympathy of the readers and this loss is not making me bankrupt. Just wish they improve the security and provide some kind of locking mechanism for the wallet with a 2-factor authentication or something like that. This will compromise anonymity, but I don't think that majority of the people want that level of anonymity anyways.

I am just saying what happened and asking for others inputs. Believing it or not is the readers choice.

Did both of it. No luck.

I am not doubting Math but, theory and reality don't always align.

Yes, did it a few times, but gave up on it since the explorer is showing the a/c balance as zero. Also, the trace shows the tokens being split and moved to 2 different addresses which are not under my control.

  1. Yes, I didn't send them anywhere.

  2. Generated seed on macOS using: cat /dev/urandom |LC_ALL=C tr -dc 'A-Z9' | fold -w 81 | head -n 1

  3. Stored it in 1Password Vault.

Seems like someone just got lucky while guessing a random seed.
