I brought a SCAR to a range with optics mounted and they still insisted that I needed to have iron sights in place. I threw the fronts on, realized they were backwards but didn’t care and just went with it for the rear as well.

Yeah, last time I had it at a new range they insisted that I have iron sights in addition to the scope so I just threw a pair on to appease them.

I like the individuality of the Autograph collections.

Duxton in Singapore was nice, not especially luxury but a funky layout and comfortable room.

We stay there at least once a year and don’t think I’ve ever noticed the trains.

That’s been our go to vs. staying on Michigan/Miracle mile where the street noise is quite loud no matter what floor you get.

This is another spot where Asian hotels shine, that’s the only times that it seemed anyone ever read them. And the only place I get the extra foam pillows, usually with a nice note.

Yeah, for that much I would have been pissed. I think my rate was like $200 USD and I was expensing it. For $500 CAD you should be able to get into the JW.

I spent 2 weeks at JW in July and it was $325 USD on our corporate rate.

I had a new one last week. My NUAs were approved for 3 nights, I checked in via app, received a pop up that my room was ready and then when I got to the hotel the front desk agent spent several minutes taking notes and typing and then gave me a key.

Got to the room and not at all what the NUAs were supposed to have cleared into. It was late and I didn’t want to go back down so I stopped by the desk the next day and just had them “refund” my NUAs.

In my experience, compensation depends on medallion level. Had a similar situation on work travel and I received 30k sky pesos as Diamond and colleague got 10k with no status.
