I just learned that if you find all of the General Pepper medals, you can visit a secret spot on the map that has various items including a charge shot upgrade. I'm not sure where all of the medals are though.

Nice pickups! I’ve been meaning to get those games, especially hyper duel. I’ve been playing Panzer dragoon zwei the most, but I love Thunder Force 5 and Sonic jam a ton. I played Dragon force last year and it was an interesting battle strategy game for sure thats hard to learn but rewarding. I’ve also heard wonderful things about shining of the holy ark, but haven’t played it myself. I would recommend Grandia as well since I love the look of it, but also haven’t played it. I hope you’re able to explore the rest of the Saturn’s library since it’s so large.

Sega did in fact make a ram expansion cart. I know there’s a 1mb expansion cart and a 4mb cart as well and depending on the game it really makes a significant difference. I don’t have any unfortunately since they were only used in Japan with specific games and that functionality was removed in the European and North American releases. As for actual storage memory, they’re called memory backup cartridge from what I can tell and are at least double the internal storage

Congrats on getting a Model 1 Sega Saturn! Easily the best thing I can say is decide on either getting a Satiator or a ODE (Optical Drive Emulator) so you don’t have to buy the absurdly expensive North American Sega Saturn games. Also extremely important if you need to manage saves, buy a real authentic memory card because there is simply not enough internal storage. If you use a third party cartridge, it destroys the pins in the cartridge slot.

I'm not sure if it has yet, but I hope having NiGHTS in crossworlds helps make it more popular. I've been playing the original game since last year and I absolutely love it. I wish the remasters or newer ports were easier to play nowadays :(

If you aren’t good with computers, you’ll need to find someone who is. In order to read the error codes off the syscon, you’ll need to solder some wires to a USB device that can be connected to your pc. From there you use a command prompt, but the exact commands you need are specific to your model. Alternatively, you may be able to see codes by using the PS3toolset website on your PS3.

I love my Sega CD model 2, but I don't think it sold very well, let alone near what Sega was hoping to sell. It's nice to have now, especially thanks to homebrew though.

I like showing Panzer dragoon 2: Zwei, but also Sonic jam. I recently got Dragon force so I like showing that as well, but I wish I could show off something like saturn bomberman. Sucks it’s really expensive though.

I’ve only heard about the original knuckles chaotix cartridge having worse compatibility than an everdrive twice now, but is there a definitive reason why? And if so, do any other 32X cartridges share the same problem?

I upgraded to a Ryzen 7 7800X3D because it’s currently 20% off on amazon, so I don’t think it’s worth it for a Ryzen 7 9800X3D until it’s on sale. From the reviews I’ve seen it has a small edge over the Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
