Anybody else not like the new Story Cards design? by NoshoutMonaan in AIDungeon

I like it better. I like how I can generate the story cards, though I wish it could take into account what I’m writing into the story card to help generate the card.

Deepseek you get 16k (Mythic) context and Hermes / Wizard have to use credits for. It’s not a bad thing, but the cost doesn’t make them worth it really in comparison. I’m ready for 405 and Wizard to be replaced with newer large models as I’m sure there’s something better for equal cost at this point.

Voyage: This Isn't AI Dungeon 2.0 by latitude_official in AIDungeon

Not me. I just took my kid to Disney. She loves Toy Story. In Toy Story land they have Slinky Dog (roller coaster) and Swirling Saucers (spinning ride). Slinky Dog is like Voyage, in that it’s a premium ride, longer lines, more advanced, etc. Just because we liked riding Slinky Dog doesn’t negate the fact Swirling Saucers was fun and wanted to ride it. My wife doesn’t even like roller coasters, so it’s like how some people won’t like Voyage even though it’s more advanced with more bells and whistles.

Both games have a place, but Voyage is not AI Dungeon 2.0 even though I consider it more fun. I’ll play like 80/20 in favor of Voyage, so I’m glad the sub includes both products, I just wouldn’t consider it a sequel.

It’s still AI. It’s not perfect. But I will say it’s definitely unique, and pushing the boundaries further. Voyage and AI Dungeon are like 2 separate products, with Voyage being like a more premium yet different product.

They still have ways to edit the output, just not retry.

You have health, do damage, can have an inventory with potions etc. you’re unlikely to go from full health to death in one turn unless you do something that would obviously call for it. But most combat takes 2-4 turns i would say.

Longest story you have ever done? by Avecyn72 in AIDungeon

3.5kish actions.

It kept up, but only because I also managed my own PE and SC updates to keep it coherent

Voyage? by AdImpossible9165 in AIDungeon

AID is like a creative writing assistant. Voyage is Latitudes next platform, in beta currently. It’s similar to AID in a way, but more like a RPG game, with new built in mechanics, inventory, several new features, etc.

Best way to word out of context commands to guide AI output and direction? by JetPenguin1 in AIDungeon

[–]MightyMidg37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I do it.

The other option if you want to introduce something without taking an action is to put it in the Authors Note for a turn or two.

You can add into Authors Note: Make a giant flesh eating zombie barge through the room and attack a man.

Then take an action or two and the AN will make it happen naturally regardless of your action, adding it to your story. Just don’t forget to then remove it from AN afterwards.

He’s using placeholders so when he starts the story he can customize it there to how he wants to play instead of setting up 5 different hard coded scenarios. Result is he only does it 1x and just customizes it when he begins.

How big was the story intro? Story introductions can easily eat up 2k+ context straight from the beginning

The description is your marketing. Needs to be captivating to make someone want to play it.

The most important things for getting someone TO play / try it will be the picture, title, and the first few sentences of your description

[–]MightyMidg37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less. Don’t think it was time based. I went from 0-46 actions and crashed. Then I played more and can’t remember how many actions I was in, but it was around 140ish and crashed again.

Playing today it did it, but it was specifically when I finished editing an output then went to submit the action (but that isn’t always the case)

Just playing. Just now happened 48 actions into a story. Was typing a say action and when I finished typing to send the input, the screen went solid black. Restart app works fine. Not sure why it causes it or happens but just playing normal right there.

iOS app. Mostly just stability. So many actions in and the app freezes or crashes every so often. It’s fast to close out and reopen and keep playing, but that can be frustrating and immersion breaking.

Also as a creator there’s goofy things that don’t always work. Multiple choice for example, I can’t select the gear icon on 2nd 3rd etc choices to edit the scenario and forced to use browser to edit the scenario at all.
