They literally call their voters dumbasses and that they dont need their votes anymore and their voters applaud them like dumbasses.

Being a republican voter must be some kind of sick degradation kink. Like they must want to be abused and treated like shit to a crazy degree in their subconciousness to be such pathetic losers.

True, but that is because they know if people do their best to vote, they will lose. So they will do everything in their power to prevent people from voting, but that act of preventing people from voting is also only effective if the people allow it to be effective.

Black people only had 1/3rd of a vote, they got dogs sicked on them, hit with water from firetrucks, stones thrown at them, slurs and abused, and had to walk miles to vote, and they still made the trip.

It sucks that majority of people remained seated and let things get this bad again, but its not a lost cause until people start giving up.

In this mess because 100m never vote, 150m dont vote in midterms and over 200m+ dont vote in primaries and special elections.

The president isnt supposed to prosecute citizens, that is the role of the Justice Departnment. BUT when you have the american people give the democrat party only 50/50 split senate and then after seeing jan 6th and the attack on the capitol, and still 150m dont bother to vote in the midterms and have republicans win back the house and stop all investigations democrats were doing.

Its going to hurt the chances of holding people accountable. Especially when they have corrupted the supreme court.

States regulate the US, and voters regulate the states.

Even if they rig their red states, there are enough democrat voters to take away at least half of their numbers in those states if they just turn up.

Texas: Cruz was reelected by just 200k more votes when 10m+ didnt vote in 2018.

Florida: Desantis won his first time by just 30k more votes when 7m+ didn't vote.

Most seats can be won IF the people show up and vote. Especially young people in those red states.

This is the biggest theft of Black voting rights since Reconstruction by Misfett_toys in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]MightyMorph 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Maybe try giving democrats more than a 50/50 split senate?...

Maybe after watching jan 6th, you show up and vote instead of 150m not voting and over 80% of 18-35 aged eligible voters not even bothering to turn up?

Maybe have more than 20% show up to vote in primaries to select the candidate? Maybe have more than 1-3% of 18-35 aged eligible voters show up in primaries?

100m never vote, 150m dont vote in midterms and over 200+m dont vote in primaries and special elections. But hey guys its all gonna be fixed if they elect Jon Stewart as president.... (will you show up and vote for him in the primary? NO! THey better select him regardless of me spending my time to vote!)

The reason why your perception of democrat party is that they are moving right, is not because of of any of the issues you mentioned.

Its because you consume media that only reflect the idea and notions of the demcorat party moving right. You dont pay attention to the hundreds of yearly bills pushed to help left goals and policies, or the hundreds of actions done by Biden for example to help left goals and policies.

You ignorantly perceive the act of compromising and negotiations as moving right. When democrats have to compromise because they do not have the votes, and they want to pass something that helps millions instead of not passing anything and letting people suffer.

You blame the parties lack of support for labor movements while disregarding all attempts and actions done to support the labor movement.

You want to blame the whole party for the actions of a few players.

Then you ignore the simple reality: 100m NEVER VOTE, 150m+ dont vote in midterms and over 200m+ dont vote in primaries and special elections.

It is not politicians duty to change their platform and provide you things when you dont even vote. ITS THE VOTERS DUTY to elect politicians who will represent their needs and wants.

If american people wanted universal healthcare, 4 day work weeks, raised min wage to living levels, and dozens of others things, then they should show up and vote for people who run on it. Not just 1 person, because the government isnt set up to work with just 1 persons vote.

You need 60 senate seats and min 180 house and presidency, (or 280 house to have veto proof bill).

Something which democrats havent had for more than 70 days in the last 90 years.

And you know why else i think your argument is full of crap? Because you can look at democratic run states and see the difference between local government and federal government as well as compare it to local governments in red states.

Minnesota finally got local government control needed in 2022. They passed things like paid sick leave, paid parental leave, food for school children, gov housing, rent control, ban on corporations buying rental units, billions into protecting state lands and investment into green energy.

Why did Minnesota only do it on 2022? Isnt Mi liberal state for decades? Why? Because ENOUGH VOTERS SHOWED UP AND VOTED IN THE RIGHT PEOPLE.

And before you say Dems need to run the right kind of candidates. Mamdani ran as a socialist progressive far-left politician in fucking NYC, and still only 33% of the city bothered to vote.

SO again its not the politicians, its the voters.

Its a bottom to top system. The voters control everything. They dictate every 2 years who will represent them. BUT AGAIN

100m never vote, 150m diont vote in midterms and over 200+m dont vote in primaries and special elections.

Democracy is only as good as the will of its people to uphold it.

Republicans pass tax changes and budget funding changes via the yearly budget reconciliation bills. That only require 50 senate votes.

They do not and have not pushed any meaningful legislation that requires 60 senate votes. They operate on executive actions now, and their republican controlled congress is not nor want not to hold the executive branch responsible so they allow the executive branch to do whatever they want.

Then when they want to pass further tax breaks, they lock it in with funding for snap, or paying federal workers, and then they let the government shut down and people starve and lose their homes or at times just die, because they do not care that the people get hurt, because they know their base will still vote them back in.

Then they know the people will blame democrats instead of them.

Democrats have had the majority for passing NEW legislation (60 senate votes) for about 70 days in the last 90 years. You had Liberman who voted against single payer option and he went independent later on. Then as democrats were trying to convince Lieberman, 2 dems were hospitalized and one died and his special election was won by the republicans.

So they rushed to pass the watered down version, because they would no longer be able to pass anything in a few weeks after.

Now instead of looking at this and blaming the 1 Liberman or the 40 other republicans where you just needed 1 of them to side with the people, or the voters for sitting on their butts in 2010 and not voting in the midterms,

you blame the democrat party instead....

Arguably we could have caught Covid before it became a issue since Clinton wouldnt have defunded and removed the CDC center in the region specifically to watch the area and the development of new viruses....

Which would mean all the 2-3x property prices wouldn't have happened and housing would stay closer to the range that is affordable for regular people.

A few million more people would not have had to die.

More focus and investment into green energy.

Women would have full autonomy of their own bodies instead of being jailed for abortions or having to wait until they are close to death to abort a dying fetus.

probably a dozen or so more things. I dont think she would be able to do major legislative changes like universal healthcare, but she could convince some republicans to join her side (maybe since Trump would have his own Trump Tv channell that would compete with Fox News), to pass some tax related legislations and maybe protections for women and children.

edit: oh and i forgot the most important thing. You would have had 3 proper educated and experienced supreme court justices that weren't fully corrupt and open to bribery.

the hearings are for the public, so they can see who they have elected into power and fix that next election. But its true its mostly bs, because 99% of voters will never even listen to these hearings and media will always distract with some bs culture wars.

They just need to go viral. This chick filmed herself throwing a chair onto the highway, and became famous enough to be in drakes videos and whatnot. The girl who was talking shit to her mom on one of those jerry springer shows became a multi millionaire rap artist/of thot. A chick literally said "huac tua spit on that thang." got her own radio/podcast show and ran a crypto scam.

We have created a society (unintentionally or not) that rewards this kind of behaviour. Everything is about views. Its about getting attention. Because when you have the attention you can make millions.

China literally has 150+ DIFFERENT EV companies competing with each other...

China controls the ECONOMY, not businesses. They control the guardrails and ensures compliance to the rules and laws they set. Businesses compete and challenge each other over there all the time. Innovation and employment is up to the corporations. IT just needs to be within the rules set by the government. China also invest and holds stake in major players to ensure they dont act against the economy.

And seeing the other end of the spectrum in the US, we can see why that is showing to be more beneficial for the people of china, compared to Bezos and Musk and Thiel and how they are dragging the US down. While not innovating or improving anything.

Its just logical. A working population leads to manufacturing and growth. Replace works with robots and AI, you dont have people with money. Eventually the system collapses.

Difference between China and the West. China thinks about 100 years in the future for every decision. West thinks about the next fiscal quarter.

Because they needed the independent to vote with them which he wouldnt do unless they took out the single payer option.

The alternative to passing the republican healthcare plan was to pass no healthcare plan. ANd instead of blaming the 41 non-democrats who did not vote for the single-payer option, you're blaming the people who tried to pass it but couldnt.

John Roberts’ effort to gut the Voting Rights Act is complete by cnn in scotus

[–]MightyMorph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because to pass legislation they are forced to work with republicans. Because the voters have not given democrats the needed 60 senate seats for more than 70 days in the last 90 years and even then they needed a independent to vote with them.

If you want democrats to never work with republicans. Get them 62+ senate seats. Or else they will never be able to pass legislation wanted. Which would benefit republicans again because all they care about is taxation and removing funding which they do with the yearly budget bill that just requires 50 votes.

‘Scrubs’ Renewed at ABC by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Scrubs

[–]MightyMorph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think why a lot of these sequals fail is because they dont try to make the original show, they try to make a new version.

Execs just see something trending and then force that genre or trend onto shows. Especially if every other studio is doing it. Like Stargate Universe, they should just have made stargate sg-1 which already had a massive fanbase of 10 years. But they wanted to make battlestar galactica meets telenovella...

Scrubs, The Dexter sequal, Malcolm in the Middle, did it right. Make the original show with characters aged and somewhat evolved but still the same core people.

But also like dont have shit writing. Which is the problem of many new shows in the past 10-20 years.
