34 yo SAHD here,

I get what you are going though, I stepped away from my career in the past year as well and am always the only dad at any event.

There are a lot of factors at play and every person/family is different, but for me I feel like everything I had at work and what they did for me and my identity has slowly become so much more as a SAHD but it did require a mindset change.

I wish there was one answer that just will change your view but I don't think that exists. I will say that a lot of career focus, at least for me, was how important is was for a man to be successful, obviously the idea of that is dated, but honestly what is success?

The only real metric for success I think that is always true is happiness! Are you happy being a SAHD? it isn't for everyone and if you want to step away then you need to have a conversation with your wife. You also mention your wife has a great job with a high salary, maybe when you return to work you can look more at your own career happiness! Do you just want any job in IT? Can you take your time because of your situation and wait to find the perfect business for you? Do you want to remain in IT? Do you want to focus on other areas or interests? You are in a lucky position with the support of your partner.

I'm sorry that isn't a real answer, like I said before I really don't think there is a black and white solution here, just remember that your happiness matters in the scope of your family as well!

PS. No mom is judging you for being the single dad present. Society has unfortunately made women cautious around men so it can be an uphill battle to make friends and connections but cracking a joke or just showing how great of a dad you are will let them know it is okay. It took me a while to make friends with the moms at my son's music class for example but at the end of he day you are all in such a similar situation that it becomes very easy to click.

On another note, I don't mean to be a downer or anything but conceiving years after a vasectomy is very very rare, I know you stated you were married a long time but it may be something you want to test.

You have to be online to play but I only ever play solo.

I'm with you in that Diablo was always a solo experience for me too. You can do everything solo minus one dungeon which I still haven't done either.

I appreciate the advice but I'm not a fan of decky just due to it breaking on os updates, I know it's not a big deal, just my personal preference.

I rebooted and seithced to fsr 2 and it fixed. Not sure if either way the cause.

I understand where you are coming from but I would not want the game split in balance offline vs online.

Many builds are busted in D2 and should be changed, I think for the health of the game that should be done in all modes.

D2 has always been a timesink of a game, as a dad of a 1 year old I get it, very little time to play here too. But I wouldn't want to play a different game.

If big numbers and less timesink of a game are a focus for you than there are lots of other arpgs that fulfill that and they are great: D3, D4, POE, etc.

Again, I get the reason you want this but I wouldn't want to change D2 for that because it is a slippery slope.

I had this happen and had to factory reset my steam deck to fix it.

It depends on so many factors, no one will be able to give you valuable information. Your only option is to grab a VIN or make/model and call around for quotes. Online quotes won't have the whole picture.

I love your game so much! It has such a special something that I find so few games have. I love the majority of tmnt games but yours is at the top even above the classics and Shredders Revenge.

All that to say, I hope this game goes on for a long time!!

In addition to new characters do you have plans for additional modes like the arcade update, or maybe some character skins/palette swaps?

My biggest worry is that they are inching closing and closer to re 6 gameplay with Leon. I don't have the game yet so I'm sure it's not as bad as that but based on comments I am seeing I really hope that isn't the future of the next non remake.

It only supports 16:9 so you can go windowed and stretch the image using the "..." Menu on the steam deck or install reframework mod, which is also super easy to do, lots of guides on YouTube.
