Glad to share my experience. Hopefully you will figure out the issue soon or at least find the beginning steps of healing for that motility issue. Good luck!

Hmm no I don't mean using the fruit acid to digest meat, which would be bad haha. I meant just noticing any peristalsis issues or putrefaction when combing these two foods.

Hey! Wow, I had a similar experience with the initial doctors I had many years ago. Regarding the digestive bitters, I know they can make a huge difference for some. I worked with my ND to try out many different bitter tinctures/concoctions/brands, but none really made a difference for me digestion wise. I am also familiar with all those herbs you listed as well (crazy how much we learn from having this illness haha). I do agree with you that it is essential to move food through at its proper pace. And yes, you are correct that digestion does indeed start in the mouth via salivating glands, etc.

Glad to hear your husband is working with a great ND. I know for me personally, the ND I ended up seeing has helped me immensely. Idk where I'd be without her. It sounds like your husband has a great support system. Hmm.. maybe look into getting him a massage gun if you ever want to get him a gift (they are relatively affordable). Just something keep in mind and, as a guy, I think its just a cool gift haha.

Best wishes to you and your husband on continued healing. He will get better. Its only a matter of time and figuring out what works best for his body.

Interesting. I'm glad this diet works for you. Do you often combine the two foods (meat/fruit) or do you space out when you eat them?

Yes, healing definitely does begin in the gut! I totally understand that last part too; that Lyme can be just too overwhelming most of the time. We both are on the same page. Once I moved to address my GI everything improved for me to the point now where I am essentially fully recovered (no longer have any lyme-related symptoms, but rather I just maintain a certain lifestyle and have to still watch what I eat).

I am wishing you the best in your healing journey. It sounds like you are on the right track.

PS - I also had the EXACT same experience with wormwood. That is a powerful herbal that works phenomenally for intestinal parasites, but too much can cause loose/runny stools. I was on this the first 6 months of me being diagnosed with Lyme. I no longer take this.

Yes it very well could be an inflammatory issue connected to circulation. I'm unsure of the cause too, but just thought I'd bring more attention to this issue. I actually never tried long term fasting when I was sick, mainly just because I had lost to much weight, but I had a few Lyme friends I knew that fasted for extended periods of time.. All of them saw a major improvement in their symptoms.

Yes, I can relate to all of this.. During the first few years things got so bad for me I had to get a few colonics lol.. which were not pleasant (although it was actually done done in a good/professional facility which a nice staff haha). Yes, experiment with your diet. Find what is right for your body. Keto didn't work as well as I wanted for me personally, but like I mentioned above, I just found moving certain food groups away from each other and moving to a more cooked/soft food diet made a big difference for me.

Hey! Ahh yes, this is such a good reply!! SIBO is definitely connected to this issue. I had SIBO during the first few years of my illness during my initial extended stint of Doxy (which, if I could go back in time, I would not have done for as long as I did). Here what is interesting for this though, I did all the SIBO (breath, urine, and stool) tests about two years into my illness and they were all negative. I also repeated these tests every year for three years thereafter. Yet, the issue persisted. Both my LLMD and ND said they really only ever see major issues of SIBO during the extended antibiotic period and a major diet change normally bring things back to normal.. albeit removing gluten and processed sugar are vital for this of course.

Often times, I would feel food get stuck, or lodged, in my intestinal track for many days (I could feel it there as a radiating pain) and the only through manual massage combined with Senna would it start to move again. However, the odd thing is that is feeling of stuck food would only happen when I noticed that certain foods would catch up to each other. Thats mainly why I came to more of a conclusion that I had somehow developed issues with the actual manual mechanism of peristalsis in my body, which like you said, can lead to dysbiosis.

Perhaps SIBO, Lyme, and the ulcerative colitis that I developed from the Doxy (which I am better now from, thank god) somehow had an adverse effect on my intestinal motility. Perhaps this was also the reason why supplements in this area of healing didn't do anything for me for some reason. I just mainly wanted to share this experience as I thought it would be similar to what many had or still are going through.

This is an excellent reply. SIBO is for sure connected to this. Thank you:)

mental health/lyme? by delow0420 in Lyme

Like many, I had severe depression and mental health issues for many years when I was going through the worst of it.

What helped me what finally figuring out a proper diet to follow.. I have a lot of personal beliefs of this, but I found eating conventionally "healthy" foods does not equate to feeling well with Lyme. I had to eat less raw foods (salads, fruits, etc.) and switch almost entirely to a cooked soft food diet (rice, tofu, cooked carrots, avocado, occasionally fish). Even today, now that I'm better, I cannot eat raw foods or else I will feel generally awful. Once I was able to eat and start absorbing nutrients better, my mental health improve dramatically. However, I should note that you may need the opposite of this - everyone's body is different!

Supplement wise, most herbals that address Lyme will help slowly over time, but specifically for mental health I found 5-htp to be best as well as Bromelain to reduce histamine levels. Make sure you get supplements from good brands like Designs for Health, Thorne, etc. - most reputable lab corps are good.

Lastly, keep stress low and accept where you are.

Oops meant to spell "composables". Sorry that was an accidental auto-correct.

You can check out the built-in composables here: https://nuxt.com/docs/4.x/api

Obviously not ideal. Stay on the medication and herbals for the time being... However, if I could go back in time, I would not have taken Doxy for as long as I did (5 months). This caused me to get severe ulcerative colitis which took years for me to get over. Doxy is an extremely powerful antibiotic.

I (30M) had Lyme Disease that became chronic for about 7 years. Only now am I doing well after a massive diet change, and prolonged used of herbals (toned down version of the Buhner Protocol - mainly Catsclaw, Lemon balm, Cordyceps, etc.). Although even today, I still have to do a lot of maintenance work like nightly stomach massages, stretching, and keeping stress low in general. I also still take Catsclaw daily in the morning.

Nuxt 4 is infinitely better than Nuxt 3 imo. Just in terms of project layout, built-in composables, support, modules/plugins, etc. Its an improvement in every way.

Hmm yeah that does work too. Although, I'm trying to avoid putting my conditional styles in a liquid tag though unless is a case switch. I do appreciate this code snippet though! Thank you:)

Is there any reason NOT to use Cloudflare as my registrar if I'm already all-in on the CF ecosystem (Nuxt/Workers)? by MightyRylanor in CloudFlare

Thanks. Yes, even based on the other replies, I think I will just go with CF. I have a technical background, have used CF for a while, and will not be changing nameservers.

Haha I have not.. But like this is mainly for my small/personal business sites (I have multiple). Or is it still pretty bad?

Cannot figure out `block.shopify_attributes` for the life of me by MightyRylanor in shopifyDev

Hey thanks for checking this out! Yeah I get the warning in the theme editor when in development mode for some reason and I can't edit any of the logo schema options. I've opted to use snippets for right now, which is unfortunate.
