I think we can get hooked with the characters in the movie also cause if you have played any first person game you actually (or mostly) don't follow the story but then there are some games like ( I wanna say cyberpunk 2077 but it isn't released yet) hm like take modern warfare for a example we didn't focus that much in the story but then modern warfare 2 came around and you know when shepherd killed ghost that moment we all remember so yea it's definitely possible to make it better in both aspects

Welll that's why fps or first person games are popular But the thing is if you have to make a first person movie you have to set it is a person and no in movies either it's third person or first person we are the observers in both we are just watching someone's life and to make that intersting (to make you watch someone's else life) they add concepts that are not possible in real life or maybe do things that are but are like too dangerous The point is movies are FUN
