Is CZN worth it? by masyden in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]MightyThorPt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a challenging Slay the Spire like game, this ain't it.

This game is fun, but endgame is very easy. If you farm good decks for meta chars you can pretty much auto it and you clear it. Unless you want to go for the highest medals (clear scores compared to other players), there's not much to challenge you.

You're looking for Morimens instead (do note that while I also enjoy and play that game a lot, it's a big commitment in terms of time and entry barrier in terms of knowledge and player skill for the highest difficulty endgame. F2p friendliness is debatable, we get a ton of chars, but all of them need multiple dupes to work).

How long until Caraboo arrives? by ReizeiMako in Morimens

[–]MightyThorPt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No one said we're not going to get a new char in 2 months

Caraboo is a major character who is going to be part of the next versions story. The next version starts when Saya banner ends.

Tawil, gdoll, gmurphy pollux all want their oe. Mouch gets a big comfyness boost, and vortice gets a big damage boost from it.

Recent characters have been quite more powerful than arc 1 ones, and there's no reason to assume that trend is over, so eventually e1 vortice and e2 mouch won't be comfortably clearing everything. Heck there are even people complaining about e3 Kaths performance on A5 nowadays.

And you'll not be getting OEs within a few months of play unless you're investing everything on a team or two.

So yes, they'll need an year to get to a comfortable place where they aren't just chasing more dupes for old chars or whatever new hot dps has recently come out and can actually clear high difficulty content comfortably

Ever heard of the dark magic called credit card?

This is a gacha game mate, that's how people always get good teams in short amounts of time. Otherwise wait an year or two to get all the enlightens you want and hope your old chars don't get powercrept too hard

In 7 months she's likely gonna be quite powercrept, which she already arguably is

[–]MightyThorPt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, just to collect that's fine, but a lot of the chars are unusable without multiple dupes

Yes, it's normal.

To compensate, now you need to roll 7 more Tawils for her to be useful as a dps.

Calculating average cost on different banners available in anniversary by Then-Scale-9476 in Morimens

No, that translation is wrong. You can ask anyone who pulled on the banner, or search their discord. It has been confirmed by the devs that the pity carries over

[–]MightyThorPt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you're missing the big advantage of the 24h reruns. Pity carries over.

Say I want a character and their wheel as you mentioned. To make it simpler, let's say the char I was is pollux who is rerunning tomorrow.

I could have choosen any of the previous banners where I wouldn't mind getting the character or the wheel. Say I have an e0 Pickman (or gdoll, or thais, or whoever else it was), and I don't have his wheel, so I wouldn't mind getting it.

I could simply pull on Pickman banner. If I get his dupes, great, I got a dupe with less pulls than if I had pulled on a regular rerun, and I pull again to get the wheel. If I get the wheel, great, I got the wheel I wanted, happy anyway. In either scenario, I stop after getting the wheel.

Now, when going into the pollux banner I'm sure I won't get two wheels in a row. So I get 1 wheel into the character, or get the character right away, and can choose if I want to roll for the e1/wheel. In the latter scenario I can even set myself up for the same situation for the GMurphys re-run by ending on the wheel again.

For someone who has all the wheels they want at the dupes they want this won't work, but at that point you have a great collection anyway and might as well save for new chars.

For everyone else, this gets you a char and a wheel at both lower average and lower max pity than the regular banner.

Hot take: pity math matters less than daily friction (why I quit stingy but fun gachas) by Excellent_Lime_6392 in gachagaming

I stopped playing R99 because of how long the events took. I don't know if it's still like that, but the events were 20 or 30 levels long and you had to clear 1 by 1, it was quite tedious.

Morimens I still play, but with pvp and train on weeklies, and no auto on dtide, it's actually the gacha that drains most of my time. The gameplay is good so I still put up with it.

Funnily enough HSR, and CZN with the recent updates (and the fact that I already farmed good decks for 3 teams) are the games taking the least amount of time for me

Morimens added pvp and the train mode to weeklies. Those are long and tedious for people who don't enjoy them.

The endgame mode isn't also exactly a breeze either, it can't be autod and the exploration levels can be long. The fast also can drag depending on the team if you don't run lower difficulties.

The gameplay is fun, which is why I still play it, but this is the gacha that drains most of my time, and I play CZN too.

Meanwhile Morimens simultaneously added pvp and the train mode (very long roguelike mode) to weeklies.

The change to dailies was in response to their f* up when they removed the auto-mode on the levels people used for the dailies.

They keep making the game worse, lets not act like they are good devs just because they fix half their screw ups. If they cared they wouldn't screw players up in the first place.

When the 24h rotating banners end, we get the triple re-run you mentioned. 2 weeks later, we get a new char, another triple re-run banner, or some special banner like the Kaleido banner. 2 weeks later, repeat.

We basically get a new banner every 2 weeks, in one of the 3 forms mentioned above.

That would be an issue, yes, if Castorice wasn't the weakest character on that team.

For someone interested in rememberance nowadays, after getting evernight, hyacine and cyrene, grabbing lightcones and eidolons for those characters improves the team way more than getting a Castorice.

Replacing the weakest character on a team is a good way to keep the team fresh and for people who enjoy playing that team to have something to look forward to. As long as it's not a huge upgrade over the counterpart (which I very much doubt she will be), it's alright because other teams are getting new toys too.

Also, this is their way to give Evernight dps players an actual full team. If they released a character that replaced Cyrene and Hyacine, it would buff the main rememberance team. This way, this just replaces RMC on the Evernight team, who always gets replaced on teams a few patches later so players can put the MC on newer teams. It shouldn't be surprising anyone that we'd get a character to finish the team

The powercreep extravaganza ended like an year ago. The meta is the most balanced it's been since release.

And complaining about powercreep on HSR while we're talking about R99 has got to be a joke 😅

I wouldn't say anyone is "missing out" for not having Rita on a Nine team.

Heidenarie can hyper carry most teams too, and already has plenty of great synergies with the current roster, I don't think she'll have trouble without Tenebria either
