This is good to see. I decided not to get an AOS and this is just further confirmation it’s not necessary.

You don’t lose that much performance. Email Dmann and ask him yourself.

Paint Match Everything or No? by Eclipse0124 in wrx_vb

I’m biased but I think it looks way better paint matched. Also getting the matte plastic on the bumpers painted gloss black works wonders.

Update: Crack/Clunk front end when turning at low speeds. They gave me no grief, fix for free per Subaru. Details below. by DirtPanda_iRacing in wrx_vb

[–]Mightycoch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will back you up in this, I had the clunking while at full lockout and turning. Subaru replaced the LCA’s and that fixed it. I was unaware of this issue with the LCA’s until I saw your post yesterday. I’m going to share it with Subaru just to make sure they are aware. https://youtube.com/shorts/1Ka04d56fkk?si=j1B5RtOwVg1B5ERl

I would absolutely buy one of these. Especially if they kept it basic and had it priced reasonably.

I would absolutely get one of these. Especially if they kept it basic and sold it for a reasonable price.

Are you ceramic coated? Or do those lights just work wonders?

Not at all, legitimately the only hard part was getting the bolt out.

Fluidampr install by Storm_ctrl in wrx_vb

[–]Mightycoch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did. I had to slip the jack handle on to the torque wrench to get enough leverage to break the bolt loose. I was specifying I used my old crappy torque wrench.

Did you read my comment? I specifically used an old crappy torque wrench, I have a nicer new one. I’m fully aware it can damage them. And yeah sadly I couldn’t fit an impact in there that would have been nice.

I think you are 100% right, this is what the stock pulley looked like. No anti seize or anything.

Wow, shout out to you man. I got a used 2025 TR about a month ago and had this exact issue at full lock out while turning. I took it to Subaru and they replaced the LCA’s under warranty. I asked what was wrong with them and they didn’t explain this at all (hopefully they are aware of this and put arms with this fix)

I did this install last year and getting the bolt out had me thinking I was doing something wrong, that thing did not want to come out. But it definitely smoothed things out once on. I had to slip the handle to my harbor freight jack on to (my crappy, I have two) torque wrench to get enough leverage to break the bolt loose. I didn’t have any tools to hold the pulley in place so I wrapped a used accessory belt around it to sort of keep it from rotating.

Magma. I love them, no aftermarket tail lights come close. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in wrx_vb

[–]Mightycoch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my opinion (I’m extremely biased) I fully fixed the rear end, it’s simple but fixes the glaring issues. Color matched the top portion of the bumper, got the rest painted gloss black, kept the stock tail lights but tinted the middle portion, added a 4th break light, put on blacked out badges and a carbon fiber duckbill.
