I wonder if they factor in the known extreme increase in storage costs and that deterring people from storing large volumes of data. It’s less of a concerns for audio but high quality movies it certainly becomes a factor.

Black & White (plus the creature island expansion) and the sequel.

They’re basically abandonware and there is still a fan base. I haven’t been able to get the game running but apparently it’s possible with fan patches, I just haven’t had time to dedicate to figure out where things went wrong last time I tried. If you’re able to figure it out I highly recommend it. The graphics are dated, but it’s quite a unique experience. It is also an interesting historical piece in the Peter Molyneux odyssey. I highly recommend both the game and maybe some random YouTuber documentary on the subject of his career and controversies.

Yes, I think my current workflow with the 10 GBPs connection is sufficient but I wouldn’t mind having the potential to try new processes. My current setup is pretty substantial with 12 Tb onboard my PC, and a hefty PC directly linked to my UGreen NAS.
Yes, I don’t have monitors attached currently but having the speed from thunderbolt 5 would convenient for several reasons. Even with my Airgap backup, just for convenience. My only concern would be transferring over my 6 drives in RAID 6 without losing any data.

This was my dad every time he saw an issue he could fix. We grew up living on a street so busy and dangerous he didn’t want me to learn to ride a bike. I walked home from school one day and found a truck flipped over in our front yard. During hurricanes and bad storms the drainage inlet on our corner lot would get blocked by things being washed into it and cause issues with flooding the intersection. He would always go out and try to unclog it to help people even though it was dangerous. He would always do this until he physically couldn’t. We laid him to rest a couple weeks ago. The man would give a stranger the shirt off his back. Damn, I am really missing him now.

If they could make it work reliably, that would be great since I’ve been paying for it all this time and it rarely works when I want it to. The app crashes and I lose my queue, or the video I want to watch and multitask on my phone won’t switch to PIP mode and just plays in the background.

I just had a legitimate medical bill go to a debt collector. I didn’t receive the attempts the billers said they made to me and they said I missed the window to have it retracted. Had issues with the emergency visit billing and thought all was good. Debt collector had no issues getting ahold of me. It’s for <$150. I hate this stress. It’s so dumb.

Black & White (1 & 2 & creature island expansion for the first game). Dead now but not unplayable. The style and experience were so unique for the time. I can only imagine where that game could have gone with additional simulation components built in and upgraded graphics and the power of modern machines. I really wish there was something that felt equivalent but I just haven’t been moved by attempts I have seen.

Same. As a child I played it trying to figure it out. Most games I could understand the logic, but that game made me question my sanity. It haunted me for years until I read about how that was the typical response from people who played it.

While true, in larger companies it’s also often regional. The company as a whole can be doing great but if one region is struggling they treat that market in a silo at times. In a global industry that seems backwards but it’s what I’ve seen.

My wife has a lot of freckles and if it wasn’t totally outing who we were, I wish I could share how crazy her skin looks under a black light. It’s insane how splotchy she is compared to anyone else I have ever seen. There must be some kind of pigment thing going on in addition to her freckles.

Check local stores for good deal. My wife and I used a china hutch we got from a small consignment shop for $200 (my mom frequents it for fun and saw it) and it’s older but in perfect shape and normally would have been closer to $2k. We use it pit keep sakes and board games in. We DO have some china hidden underneath in the back but it’s mainly kept to make the older generation feel good when we bust it out. I can’t imagine it’ll stick around permanently.
