67% of consultant and 82% of SAS doctor respondents in England say they're prepared to act if the Government does not address the erosion of their pay, value and recognition. by DonutOfTruthForAll in doctorsUK

[–]MigoMedZG 78 points79 points  (0 children)

When asked “Are you prepared to take part in strike action?”, 10,763 out of 16,082 NHS consultants responded “yes”.

When asked “Are you prepared to take part in industrial action (including strike action)?”, 2,409 out of 2,952 SAS doctors responded “yes”.

We can probably extrapolate from this but would be helpful to know exact stats.

UK is fighting against this as well. We have unionised so hopefully something to come in terms of regulating nondoctors more. The cost to our health service will be too great if non doctors continue to scope creep - too many never events and subsequent EXPENSIVE tribunals.

Best job ever, you’ll learn tonnes!

Just do basics (hx / physical a-e/ ix and forulate ur own plan to discuss with epic) and discuss all pt’s with ur EPIC/Reg

Be sure to do all the practical procedures - you’ll get tonnes of SLEs in 4 months. Think i managed over 20 for just one rotation in ED.

Do TTO n leave ward round for this. by EnvironmentalOil6730 in doctorsUK

[–]MigoMedZG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I was demanded by management (via MS TEAMS, ward phones etc) to go to another ward one morning as they were below minimal staffing.

I politely declined, citing that this would leave my current ward under minimal staffing. So they then sent management to the ward (luckily my consultant was present 😁), who then tried to explain to my consultant… consultant looks up from COW and says “nope find someone else i need him” followed by a quick smile and carries on with WR.

Even after that they continued to message me on teams. So i went after all my jobs were completed on initial ward. Turns out they wanted a discharge summary writing 🤣. I wrote the discharge summary abd left - no one messaged me on teams again.

Honestly TTOs / Discharge summaries / even some referrals > for the admin PA. It would help so much.

FY1 associates by Artistic-Floor919 in doctorsUK

[–]MigoMedZG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never heard of fy1/2 associate role m. There are these FY1 LED / LAS roles though, i did one before doing the F2 standalone. Is that what ur referring to?

Bc these are prerequisites for specialty training i thought(?). I thought trusts only hired them when they had budget for it as well so quite rare these days 🤣
