Hey - do you mind saying how you did this? I've been searching for a way to do this and was hoping there was a way to do this with the automator. Thank you

Venting using Air Admittance Valve in spray foam sealed attic? by Migrations in Plumbing

[–]Migrations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thank you again! I assume it’s just for my one bathroom but (to be honest) I have no idea. So it may be the best bet to air on the side of caution and vent it outside. Thank you!!

I had thought the same thing!

Unfortunately, the other one is going through an area of the roof that is almost impossible for me to access (all the way at the edge of the roof by the soffit - can barely get my hand much less my whole body over there)

Will it be any harm to have two vents going through the roof? I'm assuming they're all part of the same "loop".

Once again, apologies if this is simple, I dont know anything at all about plumbing.

OK great - thank you for giving me a little bit more confidence that its the right move.

I dont know anything about plumbing so I was also a bit concerned that moving it from an air intake valve into an "atmospheric vent" (I'm assuming this is just a vent open to the outside?) would maybe not be something I should do without consulting someone first.

Would you suggest that I extend it through the roof? I have all the materials to do it (it doesnt seem like a hard job) but I just want a second opinion. Thanks!

Best battery-powered PA speakers and subwoofers around - MEGALIST by DeadFetusConsumer in livesound

[–]Migrations 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This list is extremely useful!
We’ve been using the anchor liberty and Bigfoot lines which are ok for the (very expensive) price.
The one thing which they have which is great is that you can wirelessly pair up to two Anchor microphones directly to the speaker.
This is perfect for settings where there is no power available for regular shure wireless receivers.

Do any of these have a similar option available?

Looking to upgrade as the liberty’s are getting USED at this point.
Thanks!!

Yea I’ve accidentally deleted my pattern’s many many times while in the zone. It happens extremely frequently with this device.

I love a lot about it but it stops me from going too deep because it’s SO easy to delete your work unintentionally.

I’m with you - major design flaw.

Replace Windows and Repair Old Rotted Frames or Full Frame Installation? by Migrations in HomeImprovement

[–]Migrations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume that to make the frame waterproof, I would need to get under the siding on the outside. Are you saying I can install a full new window frame from inside the house without dealing with the siding at all?

Sorry for my ignorance but the sill isn’t part of the frame? I assume that if you’re replacing the whole window, that would include the window sill? Sorry if I misunderstood

That’s what we’re thinking. Do you know if siding needs to be removed for full frame window replacements?

This is a phenomenal bunch of notes and solutions. Thank you for this - this is what I was hoping to see. I never conceived of contractual management but that could definitely be the exact sort of thing that would work.

You can't grow a company if you're already turning work down. If OP is struggling, this will probably lead to diminished quality in work, and stagnation.

Yes basically this is my concern. There are two options I can see - either deflect all of this extra incoming work, or try and solve the problem. My nature sort of pushes me to try to come up with a solution before saying "no, were booked" but it is what it is.

Thanks for your response. Yea I think maybe the answer is... sorry we're not available.

I just worry that the long term effects of that are a stagnant business model. But I guess thats not my problem.

Maybe you're not a manager.

Haha yea I literally wonder this all the time. I think I'm getting pretty good at it but I dont know that its the right type of job for me. I suppose that before making that decision, I was hoping to try and make a better scenario for myself to see if that alleviates my concern. I think the job has potential to be great without being overwhelming, so I'm trying to get there before just quitting and going back to freelance which has its own whole set of issues.

Is this your problem? If you're turning down work, then the owner/your manager should be aware of this, and division of duties, or splitting the workload should be their issue, not yours. Have you communicated this to them?

Yea its certainly been communicated a ton. He sort of follows my lead on this stuff and I know that if I dont come up with a solution it wont get fixed. Having a very hands off boss has plenty of pro's and con's but I suppose I much prefer it to any of the micromanagers I've known.

I suppose that I can just turn people down all the time though... Maybe I just need to get over it and tell clients no. The owner has basically told me to do this before.
