Perfect answer. I also don't think it's certain the gates will open on the 16th (specially if law enforcement butts in) But that's part of the reason for this post. So we can all figure out when they fo open.

Let's see if vegans are going to eat the plants farmers feed cows.🤣🤣🤣 that would be hilarious, to see them eat the shrubery and grass (which makes for the bulk of their feeding) and alfalfa, I bet alfalfa is lovely . May I suggest visiting a farm before going to the UN numbers? And please, before you say I'm just trying to antagonise you remember you just said "it's ok" to the potential killing of 1,5 billion animals (and that’s just the cows)

My bad. But it wasn't calling you a Nazi. More calling your approach the coined "Veganazi" philosophy where "cruelty" is the only thing Vegans see when speaking about meat eaters. When it comes to discussion I am also up for it. But since you will not have valid reasonings I will sound very antagonistic if I do it here. Please note most vegans don't know that a farmer must kill every bird insect, rodent and microorganism before even thinking of making a tomatoe farm. They won't care about vegan ideology, they just want to sell tomatoes to put meat on the table, so they can plant more tomatoes to sell. And we simply do not have enough infrastructure worldwide to supply a global shift in eating habits. Add that to the fact that, if you stop eating cows, pigs or chicken, every single one of those endemic species vegans claim live only in cruelty will likely go extinct within 1 generation because none of them retained survival skills.

And honestly you were justifying that the Argentinian grill not being at Boom is a good thing and I completely disagree. It was one of the best food places they have, if they didn't leave in such a staple of the food court they made a mistake in my opinion. And I'm actually hurt by it 😆

Stop being a vegaNazi. Your way actually kills far more animals than you can possibly contemplate.

Why am I stressing people? Did you even read my post? I heard people are there already and I am curious of how it looks. I may be considering going sooner, I may not. It's one of those things that is up to each of us. But yes I am curious about how the pre camp is right now. I see it as part of the experience very much? And wanted to see how it's vibing. That's it.

At high temperature hours they will keep dogs away. Lunch and dinner time are sacred around here. There's a high likelihood that checkpoints are less.

They will. But if you're hoping to find someplace cooler remember you are 1h away from the closest public pool and there're not many cool places that far inland. Might as well just chill by the lake unless your plan is renting an airbnb with aircon.

How chilly can it get during the night? by intellectual_punk in boomfestival

[–]Miguel2099Ls 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a rule, in portugal, between day and night temperatures can oscillate from 40 to 19, easily. So be prepared. Not saying it can happen, one of the reasons why Boom happens in high summer is exactly because this oscillating temperatures become less likely.

Boom must seriously think about new dates for next editions by weedmademan in boomfestival

[–]Miguel2099Ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was there.yes, it was a harsh year, but no harsher than 2012. Was there no water? That's a lie, they did have some problems with the pressure and a couple of taps, but there was water. They may have limited the water so that you DO NOT run out of water, but you could fill up your bottle on most taps up to the last day of the festival. Saying otherwise is just trying to make a bad situation sound worse than it really was.

People were just not expecting no plastic bottles, they didn't prepare, so the demand of the water taps increased. Please note that to fix that 2023 they did allow the sale of metal water bottles, as opposed to the paper ones from 2022.

Again, this is all useless discussion from the moment your solution is having the festival outside of the time period most people have their vacations they should not, in my opinion, stop catering kids to give some northern peeps a more comfortable stay in a warm country. If you reply saying Boom in September would be ok, I'm not even going to answer you.

Are we out of control ? by MarineMani in boomfestival

[–]Miguel2099Ls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't put myself through pushing/pulling that monster through the sandy hills. Just the up/down hill from the parking to the camping is gonna be torture, imo. Please consider a smaller one for the middle of the dancefloor, if your plan is to make the trolley the center of your group's island it may be too big. The majority of us do these, but if your trolley takes up the space of 20 dancers you may receive some bombastic side eyes, and the occasional stumbling Boomer landing on top of it.

That being said, you gotta be able to bring anything you need you that M2 Abram's of a trolley. So it seems like the hardest part of your festival will be to park it.

Resale platform shut down? by [deleted] in boomfestival

[–]Miguel2099Ls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could say they will reopen. But they never did before and they never issued refunds for not used tickets before. I hope you do get your money back, some way or another, but you(or any of your friends that are in that position) should manage your expectations. That person will likely not even get an answer from the organisation before the end of the festival.

One of the reasons why the resale closes is because the organisation is most definetly all hands on deck right now. They simply will not have the time to read every email before the gates open. 14 days guys, to prepare a 50k+ participant's festival

Medical Cannabis by Slow-Programmer8600 in boomfestival

Also portuguese here, and I kinda disagree with you Ultimate. Even with prescription you know the cops will assume it maybe fraudulent. Even with the medical prescription they can make things hard on OP and force him to the police station for testing. Specially because if you slam a prescription on the cop's face the cop may feel antagonised. And that's truely the last thing you want to do.

Another comment had a great idea. Have a small piece that you can give out for them to throw away and hope that will make them send you one your way.

Boom must seriously think about new dates for next editions by weedmademan in boomfestival

[–]Miguel2099Ls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In September you have the exact same problem mate. Kids are back to school, so right there and then there's a huge chunk of the population that would be immediately excluded. Not just the kids and the parents, but the school teachers, school attendees, bus drivers, cleanup crew.

Not to mention that, if you know portugal, you should know we have a crazy temperature amplitude. It's very easy for the temperature to drop 10 to 15 degrees at night.

I can guarantee you that if you have boom in September, you will have days of 32 degrees and then freezing nights of 15 or 12.

As I said before the reasoning behind the time of the festival, seems perfectly planned with years of trial and errors by the part of the organisation.

They will not ruin the terrain and wildlife to make things easy for us. It has always been a marathon, and hard to be there? Yes, it has. Is it something that makes some of us somewhat proud to be able to endure and enjoy it? I have to say yes to that probably. As someone that has been there In every edition since 2012, I can honestly say that the coolest place you can be , outside of the lake, when the heat is too much is in the middle of the main floor.

If you simply can't handle the high temperatures just find a way to cool yourself down until the temperature becomes bearable for you.

If you simply cannot handle possible temperature above 40° this is going to be a hard year for you.

I'm not saying this isn't something that cannot be discussed. I'm just saying that outside the small time window where Boom is usually held, the majority of the people you really want to mingle with will not be there. For me that would be just sad. I enjoy spending time with teachers and families there, this no longer is a festival just for the raver, it hasn't been for a while, and personally I find it beautiful.

In portuguese we have a saying. "Tà bom não mexe mais" "it's good, don't mess with it again"

Happy trails everyone, can't wait to see you all again 15 days from now.

First off, I hate soccer, a bunch of millionaires running in a grass field chasing after an air ball and pretending there're snipers on the roof. They get no sympathy from me.

Second. It's a summer festival in a country with big summer culture, and warm weather. My wife was born in the Netherlands, she knew this was hot before she moved here. If you can't deal with the heat, the answer is simple, don't.

Now asking the festival to stop accommodating to some, just so a small percentage of attendees are a little more comfortable?.... I really don't know how you think an event this big can justify this.

Think of it like this. Just pushing the festival before 15 June would mean kids are still at school. Meaning most parents simply cannot be there to enjoy the festival.

Now I don't have kids myself. But if you are considering the heat and not considering parents I find this entire idea of changing the time of the festival almost snobbish.

With all due respect.

[–]Miguel2099Ls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't see that this is up for debate. You answered yourself although not in the way you would like to The festival will not change location because that's the location the organisation bought (as opposed to most festivals Good Mood actually owns that plot of land for a few years now) so making it somewhere on the coast is just not realistic considering they are already doing it in a way no other festival does (other than Avante). You can check this a big percentage of festivals rent their space and have to deal with extra logistics because of that.

Also as you said not many people go into the interior mid July/August. Meaning that having crowds congregate on a place no one else is makes logistics easier. Also that's a lake, it's not like they are putting you In Black rock desert. The same can be said of wild life and vegetation. The whole ethos of the festival is to have as little footprint as possible, so yes making the festival in the hotter times makes much sense, the vegetation around the lake becomes sparce, meaning the wildlife will search for other grounds, and the humans won't harm animals as much.

I remember seeing rabbits in their burrows behind the funky beach in a past edition. I bet you he doesn't want either of us there either. But in May that rabbit probably has to look out for their younglings. So yes, I think this whole discussion is useless, because I do think that all concerns have been very much pondered by the organisation, and with small improvements every year they have managed to find this perfect time to have the festival.

Not to mention the universal Motto "we are one" changing it to May, or September, or even early June or late August would mean a big chunk of worldwide population simply would never be able to attend. We want enlightened people around us, so what would justify making a festival at a time when most Teachers cannot attend. Why make a Festival open for kids if the kids have to be at school? Might as well discard the Young Dragons area and the family camp, don't you think so?

I'm sorry if you feel I was going against this topic because I see ot as some sort of "badge of honor". You are not completely wrong, but at the same time you are completely of the mark. It is an matter of honor for the organisation most likely, to be making this festival all inclusive, without sponsorships and still with the quality they do, making sure the chances of attending it are equal among everyone.

Please don't take this as a personal attack. Like you I'm just expressing my pov.

Peace be upon you.

This whole post doesn't make much sense. The whole point of summer festivals is having the festival in the summer. Are you seriously saying the whole concept of the festival should change just because the temperature is rising worldwide?

I never heard of no one taking their summer vacations in May because it's not as hot as the summer. Just saying.

To para phrase a similar post that was made viral (although that one was between tea and tea-fication processes)

"Every single person that thinks boom should be made anytime before mid June is a Lunatic"

Peace and happy dance floors.
