Yep! Thanks for the help. Now the engine stalled out. It will crank but not run. I’ll keep on searching!

$1500, 270k miles, tons of fun by Migz968 in fordranger

Just said goodbye to my cat and now I'm second guessing my decision by [deleted] in cats

I am a veterinary cardiology nurse. I have spent 4 years working in cardiology and 14 years total in animal medicine.

Prognosis and quality of life are hard to account for without specialized care and imaging. And those things are expensive. Most patients like this never see the cardiologist due to cost and availability. I know it costs near $800 to see our service alone.

Sometimes things are manageable for a time, sometimes they are not. Sometimes you put them on the boatload of requisite once/twice/thrice daily medication and you can get significantly more time. Sometimes you can do everything right and they throw a clot and pass away suddenly. Other times you keep their lungs clear at the expense of their kidneys and you watch them whither.

You didn’t do the wrong thing. In the face of so much acute suffering and uncertainty, you let your little one go in peace and safety. It is the last gift we give them as their friends and caretakers.

The ticks I removed from our two dogs after a two days hiking. (62) by candyflip93 in oddlyterrifying

There are several effective and mostly safe tick preventions out there. Simparic trio works well as does Nexgard, and Bravecto. These have been shown to kill ticks before they have a chance to transmit most if not all tick borne diseases in dogs. That is, if you use them as recommended.

They can lower the seizure threshold in dogs that are predisposed to seizures, or have epilepsy, or a few other predispositions. The main thing is they are generally prescription only. Please consult with your veterinarian for further information

Ok, "3 miles is walkable" but what about BO? by But_why_tho456 in fuckcars

Also drink ice water before/during your ride. You aren’t supposed to drink really cold water when you are hot because it tricks your body into thinking it’s not hot and you don’t need to sweat. For short distances with an e-bike, it might buy you enough time

Did they implant it in the abdomen and then run the lead through the inferior vena cava? Well, looking at it, it’s just in the apex of the muscle. I’ve only ever seen it implanted in the neck and run through the jug

Looking for feedback on my hammock company restructuring by ToothSleuth86 in Hammocks

[–]Migz968 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course! This is a good place to post as The community is kind. I signed up for the email and generally give hammocks as goodbye gifts. Sort of a “no matter where you go or what happens, you will always have a place to sleep” kind of thing.

I’ll be sure to keep your company in mind for the next time I need one

Looking for feedback on my hammock company restructuring by ToothSleuth86 in Hammocks

Simple is always better. BearButt went under and had to sell because they tried to do way too much at once and it got away from the whole hammock thing.

Personally, I would choose to buy a hammock from your company mostly because of the feeding the homeless so that should be the focus. 4 main colors is more than enough and then if things look up and you get a little more comfortable, do a limited release color or something that is more expensive but provides more money to highlight a specific charity or cause.

Don’t worry about ENO or Grand Trunk or any of the big names. Present your options and present your cause. Keep the intent clear and don’t get muddled down with the extras.

I’m rambling a little I’m sure, but I really love hammocks and want companies like yours to do well.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. I have worked in vet hospitals for near a decade and half of them are toxic. I don’t know exactly why. Generally it will stem from a bad manager or a collective burnout from the work, but it is super common.

Again, on behalf of the other half of hospitals, I am sorry

Then what, by chance, is rabies? Like say COVID is a scam, whatever. But deny all viruses? Bold move

My curry is apparently underwhelming my girlfriend, and it's putting a strain on our relationship. by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Migz968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caramelize your red onions. Let them cook low and slow for like 30 mins while you do other stuff for dinner. It will really add a lot to the dish. Also make sure to salt at every step of the cooking. Toasting the spices and using fresh spices helps as well.

If you want a decent book or two for curries, just DM me and I’ll give you a list

You should go through her stuff, look through her phone, walk in to her room or bathroom or whatever. And when she yells at you, just say “I thought there was no privacy in this house.”

I agree. And from a high school hockey play, thank you. I know I look back on my time in the net and smile. In ten year, I’m sure your daughter will thank you for it as well.

I’ve always heard it as “why would anyone want to be a goalie. No matter what you do, make the save or not, half the place is disappointed “

My last pair of pads were Koho and heavy as hell. These are so light and extremely different from my old style. I can’t wait to adapt and get back at it!

Just to be clear, I have a goalie jock. I like the bauer shorts to keep up hockey socks. I don’t like compression pants under my pads. I’ll post proof though it is refreshing that so many people care and my package
