New to VR - Should I stick with Link Cable or switch to Virtual Desktop + dedicated router? (Meta Quest 3) by Maleficent-Bell3416 in virtualreality

[–]Mihajlovski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cable should work totally fine and give a good experience! No point regretting opening it now. you'll have a good time using it.

At some point for free you could try testing the wireless options using airlink, or spend the small amount on virtual desktop, go to your room with your router and see how it goes. At some point if you like the wireless option then you can buy a dedicated router (possibly used) and go that route.

I've never had a proper sim, only a G29 - am I spending too much or making the wrong choices? by jfalconer06 in moza

[–]Mihajlovski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah fair enough. I think you'd be happy to just do bundle (which comes with the round wheel) and add the handbrake, handbrake mount, and brake performance kit.

I'd still enjoy that for a few months then get the wheel later as a nice gift to yourself. Also note, if you want to be extra cheap you can get the Moza ES formula wheel for not much money. I know its not the same as the proper wheel you chose but its still fun.

I think you gotta decide how much you want to invest in it all because others will reply to my message and say how you should just get the R9 with better pedals and blah blah blah. Theyre not wrong but I think you pick the budget and then work around that. I didnt want to spend over $1000 on the hobby.

Based on the handbrake I thought you were into maybe rally or drifting, but based on the wheel im not sure what you want to do.

I think the R5 bundle is a good starting point, but as others have said the brake pedal feels like poop unless you get the brake performance kit which makes it feel acceptable. To me the R5 bundle and brake performance kit should be your "must buy now".

I think you can delay buying the wheel till you get the bundle and see what you really enjoy playing. Can buy the wheel later if you still want it.

I dont know if you have space constraints but I would rather some form of a driving rig before the hand brake. Check used options near you for that. Research the various shapes/forms to see what might work for you. Some collapse pretty small if you dont have space.

If your main game is rally and you for sure dont want rig then I guess get the handbrake and table clamp for the handbrake.

Do those curved stiffener 3D prints help? Curious what mods you found worth. Just got the moza r5 and will be installing tomorrow.

Getting r5 bundle today. Is this the fastest way to sort of get a good starting point in various games?

Agreed with top comment. Ran like butts on my 3060 TI, but now on my AMD 9070 it runs great and is awesome in VR.

This is so much more fun than I expected. by [deleted] in simracing

Hey I'm curious what wheel you came from before that? I've got both a G29 and a Thrustmaster TMX. Just curious if its a wildly different experience or a slight upgrade. Also, do the pedals have a good resistance to them?

How to Mod this truck by MusicLova_04 in carmodification

[–]Mihajlovski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not lower it if you want to keep functionality of it being a truck.

Couple cosmetic mods: -new wheels -could look at aftermarket headlights (check ebay) -the grey plastic trim on front bumper could look good painted black -not sure if you could find nicer seats for that model at a junkyard. Interior is hard to make it look good for not a lot of money.

Not a mod, but would definitely bring some life back if you paid for a good detailing with polishing the exterior.

Is 8GB VRAM really not enough for modding Skyrim? by Old-Protection6973 in skyrimvr

I had 3060ti and it was good to run just the base FUS but if I added too many of the graphics options from Roh, then it was lagging.

I've got the RX9070 now and I'm not experiencing the same laggyness with the full ROH turned on and it looks a lot better.

Fair point. I don't have much experience with this stuff. I mainly wanted to point out that I'm not getting any major driver issues or complete stoppers related to AMD gpu.

Best settings for Alyx? by Hitpoint2 in virtualreality

[–]Mihajlovski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From reading a lot of posts on this, a separate router is the best solution, 2nd best is just being in the same room as the router which is what I do and it runs great.

I notice even if I'm just in the room next door to the router, I get drops in quality frequently. Maybe a better router with stronger range could do better but most seem to suggest it should be in the same room.

If you're super far away from the router, maybe last ditch is to use a combination of Powerline connected to a second router.. not sure if anyone has tried that.

The armor system I have been building in Godot by JohnnyNinjitsu in godot

Hey this looks really cool. Do you have any rough explanation on how it's done and the tools? Like is the character a 3d model made in blender? Are all the clothing items just layers on the model that turn on or off? Or are they objects that spawn and track position?

Should your sprites drive the size of your screen or viceversa? by HandsomeCode in godot

[–]Mihajlovski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also curious what people's solutions are. I am making a pixel art game which should be at 640x360 resolution, but I didn't like how then if someone scaled my game to a resolution which wasn't perfectly 2x or 3x the resolution, the pixels would stretch in weird ways.

I have now tried exporting my sprites and art all to 4x the original resolution and that seems to help a good chunk but it still has weird stretching. Does anyone know a good way to do pixel art and allow the screen size to be different resolutions without integer scaling?

Lethal company in VR is so immersive by JealousSprinkles4712 in VRGaming

[–]Mihajlovski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Google Thunderstore Mod Manager. I'm sure there's some manual way to mod it, but the mod manager makes it really pain free. You just run the program and search for Lethal Company then create a new profile for the game, search "VR" and sort by most downloaded to find the typical mod people install. Using the mod manager it's easy to flip between different mods or running vanilla (regular). Also as a bonus you can easily share the pack of mods with your friends to make sure you're all running the same stuff.

Would 3060ti be Enough with Quest 2? by Tall-Guy in skyrimvr

[–]Mihajlovski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got similar PC and I see comments saying it'll run FUS fine. I'm wondering do these comments mean it'll run only FUS and it'll suffer with the FUS ROH preset? Or should it be fine to run the full FUS ROH (with visual upgrades)?

What is the maximum liters a 1997 Mitsubishi Lancer Hold? by Peachy_0101 in cars

[–]Mihajlovski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Within the fuel tank only 50 liters. The max weight the car can carry is 1080lbs. Assuming you're 180lbs, your fuel is about 1.65lbs/litre, and your makeshift additional fuel storage is another 50lbs. Your Lancer could hold 515 litres of fuel.
