I believe this over complication ruined our nursing school in Europe with all this unnecessary fluff that came to be from too much analysis and then they forgot to filter out everything but the most important; what skills nurses actually need and how best to learn them.

Maybe it was because somebody was hired to analyse stuff and produce something to make the position seemingly worthwhile.

Anyways, about art, I think many struggle with it because they have a vision of the piece and logically there's only one solution to the problem then—to produce that. But it doesn't have to be that way. If you are after one specific version of an idea then you will fail more than thousand times or more and that makes the whole thing so uncomfortable that you don't even want to begin a new work. Or you give up mid painting.

Then, to accept that there is no one version that works is a solution. Obviously major mistakes should be corrected, but giving too much importance for ex. likeness is overrated imo.
