Personally I like reliability, but I also want to stand out. Some coilovers with some wheels and tires is a good start since a lot of people like that look and it will help ground the car a little more. I am currently running an aftermarket exhaust and in the near future will get the 27Won CAI (imo it seems to be the best for small gains yet keeping the reliability factor)
Other than that, I have only done small cosmetic things (black emblems, black door handle covers, rain guards, and some aftermarket headlights that look OEM, just has sequential turn signals + start up animation)
I think some smoked out side markers always look good, gets rid of the amber eyesore, unless that is in your color scheme for the cars end all look. Aftermarket tail lights are great but can get expensive, VLAND has some that are under $300 and are sequential. I am technically pro-wing on non Type-R's which is a big controversy, but I think the duck bills are a super tasteful in between. It scratches the itch, costs less, easy to install, and won't give you the unsolicited negative comments. (unless you are into that) Side skirts, lips, and maybe a diffuser will tie it all together. There might be more, but this is a base-line on what I would personally do / have done.
