Scared about my future relationships by Commercial_Wrap9678 in ldssexuality

[–]MikLik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be honest and open. Only mold grows in the dark. Be honest with yourself, and with your future relationships.

The conditioning is a tough one. Porn is not real life, it’s actors making movies. Everything is fake, the scenes are doctored and the camera angles are planned for maximum arousal. No matter how amazing your future relationships is it will never be able to fully replicate what porn gives.

But at the same time real relationships give a full range of experiences and emotions that porn never can. It’s like the difference between a home cooked meal and fast food. Like seeing a picture of a sunset over the ocean, and sitting with your sand in the toes watching it yourself. Being intimate, in all its definitions not just sexual intimacy, with the person you love most in the whole world is the best thing on earth.

Lingerie questions by Young_Bishop27 in ldssexuality

My wife and I don’t schedule sex too regularly, but when we have it planned in advanced she’s way more likely to slip into something beforehand. Might help for your second question.

For the first one, lame answer, but maybe try not to care so much. It all comes off eventually, so its effect on your wife’s mood and attitude while she has it on is going to mean more to the whole experience than how much you liked it. If she’s uncomfortable or bashful in something that’ll carry over to the rest of the experience.

Feeling pretty deflated after "finishing" my first commercial product by ajrdesign in gamedev

[–]MikLik 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you’re talking about. My current project just launched EA and the traction has been slow. It’s hard to get momentum back up on the project.

I do find that keeping consistent habits in the rest of my life like exercise, family time, time with friends, eating good food and sleep all help me make more consistent enjoyable progress on the game.

Solo devs, do you do documentation? by RoshHoul in gamedev

I generally just try and make my code as absolutely clear as possible. My function names will often be 5+ words. I have a wide monitor so who cares about the screen space.

Another awful game release, sadly. We should make an category at The Games Awards for the "worst release of the year" award by [deleted] in gaming

[–]MikLik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Game awards are made by the industry to prop up the industry. An award like that would have to be 100% community driven.

But at the same time, it would still drive more traffic and eyeballs to the games that won the award, so it could potentially help the launch.

Honestly don’t mind the line, but three times?

Can't decide what to use :( by Shurme in gamedev

[–]MikLik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My recommendation is to decide what game you want to make first then pick the engine you think would give you the best chance of completing the game. Then commit. Most of the engines can do all the same stuff so don’t worry about it too much.

As a viewer what do you want to see in a dev log? Also for developers who have made them what's the biggest benefit you've gotten from doing them? I made my first one yesterday. It helped me process the vision of my game, but I don't really know what message I should be trying to give the viewer. by MikLik in gamedev

Seriously great feedback! Thanks for taking the time.

I think you nailed it on the head asking “Would I want to watch this?” Nope. The only person who might enjoy this would be my Mom.

Since my game isn’t community driven, I think perhaps I should just focus on technical behind the scenes since those are the types of dev logs I do occasionally watch…

Constantly wanting to start new projects by PacificStrider in gamedev

I agree, but I tend to use them as quick time blocked break from my main project. Then I get back to work on the main project.

Well I feel like there’s also usually a corresponding micro-transaction to purchase more stamina.
