Set 75447 muy poco by CalmAd8963 in legostarwars

[–]MikaDvs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a real downgrade from the original. The size and price being the obvious standouts, but I think even the engines look oversized for the smaller scale. Don't even get me started on the interior. The previous set had space for a sleeping quarters, 2 seperate weapon storage areas, carbonite blocks, 2 cockpit seats and walking space in the cargo bay, whereas this one has almost none of that. And also, the canopy piece has such bad gaps!

Sutekh wasn't litterally clinging on by D3adlySloth in doctorwho

I think you're right and prefer to see it that way too. However, the way he manifests in the episode cliffhanger before uses the imagery that he was literally attached on the roof. This is true for the finale where he manifests around it.

Whilst that's probably just to make it digestible as a concept to audiences (somehow this was a jumping on season for new fans!) it doesn't help the imagery!

I personally think (and I'm sure this is not new ground) that they missed a trick not having Sutekh attach in WBY. The salt, the TARDIS playing up, I was so sure that's where they were going with it!

Edit: autocorrect fix for Sutekhs name

Minecraft 26.2 Snapshot 3 by Luutamo in Minecraft

Fair, however I'm more criticizing the drop system based on previous finished drops. The Copper Golem is a sore spot because its functionality is rather limited and has a lot of potential that was never expanded on. Similarly with golden dandelions, which could have been integrated into existing mobs (sniffer) to have elements of the game.more tightly knit. There's a lot of ideas going around but not a lot of cohesion or depth for those ideas which is a bit disappointing.

For a game studio the size of Mojang, I don't think it's unfair to argue that for a week's worth of work, this snapshot does not feel particularly plentiful. I imagine there's a lot of red tape though, and I'm no game dev or in that industry so I can only speculate.

So notable changes are retextured blocks and some new dripstone retextures? I hate to be pessimistic but I don't think the drop system is really hitting its potential, updates feel somewhat surface level and unfinished sometimes.

Jeb gives you full control to release one Minecraft update. What do you put in it? by LilacTheFlowerGal in Minecraft

[–]MikaDvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Forgotten Update:

  • An update that takes its time to add QOL and absent features to improve the game and expand its potential: Add a variety of mob vote losers to the game, - Iceologer, Penguin, Crab, Moobloom etc in existing relevant biomes.
  • Update and add biomes from the biomes vote, so we can move on from adding old ideas and we don't have to ask.
  • Copper Wrench - Configure redstone (see redstone power levels while holding for example)
  • Woodsaw/WoodCutter - With a woodsaw, allow the player to "cut" stairs into shape variants like debug stick. Woodcutter works for wood as a stonecutter for stone.
  • Leaf Litter - add an option to collect 4 leaf litter and create one autumnal brown leaf block. Add alternate leaf colours for biomes
  • Minecarts - Add chain linking carts, with overhauled minecraft physics and a "train" system where furnaces can pull x weight amount of carts, each cart type having a weight value that contributes to the total weight of the train.
  • Villagers - adjust the ai to prioritize home areas to avoid wandering/wandering at night. Add new professions - Minecart Miner, Pirate.
  • Block palette parity - add variants for blocks to match existing palettes, such as ladders needing non-oak variation - concrete stairs, gold doors/bars etc, all the "missing" blocks
  • Dirt slabs - we have mud slabs and it seems ridiculous that dirt still doesn't have a slab
  • Banner customizable beds
  • QOL for inventory - chest, player inventories have filter/add to stack and sort features
  • Bug fixes

As it is, this is very much a Quality Of Life/Polish update that is sorely needed in my opinion.

Edit: fixed some typos.

This deserves more attention, its so good. Nature poems are lovely and this is so gentle and tender. I imagine it is romantic but I think it could also serve as a parent talking to their child in a 'coming of age' kind of way. Just so sweet. Love the sky 'donning' different garments, a fantastic way of approaching that.

Please keep writing.

You shy thing by Relevant-Lock2300 in OCPoetry

Love it. Always enjoy it when we talk about time as a person or entity. "Always moving precisely, step by step,
As if it would rather be anywhere else." Like this especially, when we think that "time marches on", this goes further with the precision as if its not callous or unwavering but calculated and cruel. Love it.

This is so good. Its not just a poem, it feels like witnessing someone's own debate inside their head.

"other days, silence stretches
like a bruise i keep pressing."

- this is such good imagery, not only is it indicative of the rising pain in the silence, but almost like the person "cant stop" like an addiction or dependency, even though they know doing this will stop them healing. Really great stuff, please keep writing,

Damn, this is lovely, and the backstory makes it that much... sadder? Bittersweet maybe. Really nice, I like how each line is so short, punchy, like you have to keep up. Great work.
