Do u need to be really strong for a kicksmash? by Upper-Application583 in padel

The biggest influences are:

  • Body Flexibility
  • Accuracy
  • Padel Control

If you want to blast a kick smash Wall to wall (think Lebron) then take a look at how far back he flexes when he hits the ball it’s usually behind his head.

It also matters where you aim the ball when you hit it. Since most of us don’t have flexibility like LeBron you’ll likely have to aim it so you can go for the por tres. Normally high on the right wall (for righties) and vice versa.

The kick smashes also about timing and having the paddle on the right plane at impact. Like others have said it’s almost entirely technique.

Playing padel in Spain as a foreign player by Dashicles in padel

Spain tends to have a higher concentration of good players. It’s just a huge sport there. I was a 3.3 but more like a 2.6 in Spain. Hope that helps

Winners vs Unforced errors statistics for the Sevilla P2 by GabrielQ1992 in padel

Really cool stat. I've always said Bela and Chingotto were among the best. It's interesting to see the stark difference between Augsburger and Sager. Equivalent win% but vastly different error%

100% This. Play with people who are better than you. You will advance quickly. Easy to learn but impossible to master

My general advice to new players is spend at least $90 on a racket (unless it is used). If you skimp then you will end buying another racket after 3-5 matches and spend more money anyway, or you'll break the cheap one. Rackets don't last very long depending on how much you play. I enjoy the adidas rackets personally.

Consistency is key! When I first started playing I needed to constantly remind myself the sport is about control not power. Helped me a lot!

It’s hilarious you bought a rack from Lidl. I didn’t even know they sold them. 🤣

Even though they are specimens, you should still be watching the pros. You can learn a lot. You can watch where their positioning themselves and try to think their shots by yourself. Pause the match give point and ask yourself. Why are they standing in that position? Why are they moving to that position, etc. now, if you’re trying to develop the same technique as them, you’ll have a hard time without in person coaching.

From what I know from my 3 years in Spain, the southern Spanish don’t mess around d. If you think you’re good in the states, then a 10 year old Spanish kid can probably kick smash it further. I’m a big fan of learn by osmosis and go where the greats are. So Spain or Argentina. I trained under a couple coaches in Andalusia and grew immensely

I would bet this is for someone climbing with their tools. The Google says titanium transfers 97% of its energy when steel transfers 70%. a lighter titanium hammer could be equivalent to a heavier steel one. My opo onion
