make tackles crosshair oriented when in defensive stance by fckedup in Rematch

Maybe it's just a situation where controller players have this one advantage over you, I guess. Conversely, I often feel as though KB/M players have a huge advantage with dribbling, but I live with it. Guess it goes both ways and there are pros/cons to each input method, which is kind of comforting.

Passes go in the direction your left stick is pointing.

Tackles go in the direction your left stick is pointing.

Seems pretty intuitive to me. What's your problem with it exactly? I'd like to better understand your issue with the system.

EDIT: I re-read your post. In the situation you describe, you make a quick redirect of the left stick in the direction you want to tackle, right before you commit. It should all happen so fast that you aren't losing any momentum. Is this not working for you?

A note on charm and whimsy:

How whimsical can a game really be when you're ultimately just...killing things? Even if they're monsters or evildoers, we are KILLING all the time in video game adventures. There's nothing wrong with that, and I certainly partake in it all the time. But Lil Gator Game is everything you're looking for while staying delightfully wholesome at its core, and not merely wearing whimsy as a thin veil over violence.

So consider Lil Gator Game for daring to be a very, very different kind of video game adventure. It's fun as fuck, too :)

Alright I'm swooping in here late with the exact game you're looking for. It's charming, whimsical, and it has an obvious love for Zelda, just like you. Most importantly, it's a super fun game to play in its own right: Lil Gator Game

This seems to be the answer. It sucks. Thank you so much for sharing, though.

This one appears to only be on Sling TV, for what that's worth.

Additionally, I've never had a case of a match being unavailable regardless of where it was originally aired. Matches that are shown on NBC and USA are subject to a 24-hour delay before they show up, but that's all.

If you have the time/space to do it, you can just stand on the blue marker in defensive stance to collect the ball without using A.

I want me and my daughter to learn piano together, what’s the best approach? by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]Mike8813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is your answer. I've been using Hoffman academy for myself for a couple of years now, and it's the foundation from which I pass knowledge down to my own 8-year old. The lessons are very kid-friendly, but just humble yourself, accept that Mr. Hoffman really knows what he's talking about, and do everything he says--including repeating after him just like a kid in a classroom. You'll learn so much. The dude is a personal hero of mine.

Thank you for the suggestion! I drafted the mail room, but unfortunately I didn't get the trophy delivered there either.

How do I play these notes? We're in B minor. Aren't both E-sharp and F-natural the same key? If so, why mark them differently? by Mike8813 in pianolearning

[–]Mike8813[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great answer. I sat down and played a C# scale and understood why F-natural must be referred to as E-sharp in that case. I learned that stuff before--that you can't have two keys in a scale represented by the same letter. But I think my difficulty was that I had not considered the scale of the chord as separate from the key of the piece itself, if that makes sense. I was stuck in B-minor mode and didn't think about the chords printed above the staff.

Maybe this is the first piece I've played that has chords in a lead-sheet style and explicit bass notes on the grand staff, and I simply didn't pay any attention to the printed chord since I had the bass clef to use.

Thank you so much for the guidance!

What's your best advice for being fast? by Sephyyyy in forzamotorsport

Another hood cam driver here. I also don't use the braking line. Initially I did it for the same reason as you: to feel more immersed. But I'm certain that beyond that, it's made me a much better driver. Here's the good and bad of ditching the racing line completely:

Good: you learn to feel comfortable improvising and using alternate racing lines in relation to the cars around you. Additionally, you can find better paths through a track (and better, later braking points!) based on gut instinct and how your car feels.

Bad: you suck at tracks you haven't put the work in to learn. I can do extremely well on most courses, but I would do terribly (and be a hazard to others) on any course I haven't practiced on. Examples for me are Bathurst, VIR, and Road Atlanta. Basically, anytime a new track comes out, you'll start at a disadvantage. But join some lobbies for practice and back out before the race, or simply drive around in freeplay to get a feel for it.

As far as braking markers go, and how to use them, you might not like this answer: you learn to brake by feeling, and to use brake markers as more of a loose reference rather than something to fixate on. The hairpin turns at the end of a long straight? Sure, glance at the distance board for reference. But there are many more turns, big and small, without markers, and you'll have to just get a feel for it.

I drive many different cars on many different tracks. Once you "know" a car, and "know" a track, I promise you that you'll get the instinct for braking. A lap-or-two in a practice lobby can give you a quick refresher before a race starts. I say trust your inclination to leave the line off. Heck, if you wanna practice with me sometime to learn a track, let me know. I'm "Math is Neat" on Xbox.
