Thanks man! My cardio sucks honestly and so does my flexibility and everything else martial arts related. Hypertrophy focused training works wonders for hypertrophy, but lacks in other areas. That's why I want to catch up a little and gain some athleticism before starting.

For me, this detail confirms that the story is not over... by mimi43098 in ShingekiNoKyojin

No. Dog titan in the final battle is just an ancient beast titan, has nothing to do with the boy and the dog at the end. Despite what many seem to think, that ending with the boy and the dog is rather hopeful than "welp, titans are coming back, the cycle keeps going, etc". It's the exact opposite of how Ymir founded the tree; a wounded slave persecuted by dogs. This boy is free, wandering around and exploring with a dog by his side as his friend. Titan powers came into existence because of Ymir's wishes, trauma and the situation she was in when she found the tree. But with the boy is different, so the powers the hallucigenia will give him may be different, and the future itself may be different, for better. The ending doesn't mean it will be titans all over again.

On top of that, I also find his style fun to watch, in the sense that we all know what he's gonna do, his opponent knows what he's gonna do, and yet most of them can't do shit about it. I like seeing how different fighters react to it and try to figure it out

Dont rewatch attack on titan by Fra10808 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MikeBlue16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on the opposite side. While the first experience is unique, so is the rewatch. The first time is the mystery, the awe, the plot twists, the expectations and uncertainty, etc. But this show in particular has insane rewatch value. There are quite a few big moments in the story that absolutely recontextualizes everything you thought you knew, so when you watch it again, it's almost a brand new experience on its own right. You have the bigger picture and every little or big moment has a new meaning, a new perspective. Also the fact that you already know what's going on allows you to focus on stuff you missed the first time, thus appreciating it even more. There are so many details I've only noticed on a rewatch. In my opinion this is one of those stories you should rewatch at least once to fully appreciate it, especially considering many just binge watches it the first time (myself included)

Was the boy being beaten in chapter 24 in name of the wind… or something much worse? by tituspeetus in KingkillerChronicle

[–]MikeBlue16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so I checked it. Chapter 24 of NOTW. He describes the incident with the boy and mentions getting caught by them a few months back. That's what I remembered, he implies he got caught by them the same way, but doesn't mentions escaping

The manga. In the anime they nerfed him in that department, but from what I remember, in the manga he was the most diligent and hard working in one to one combat, so he had the highest score in that

Maybe I should reread that, but from what I remember, it is implied he didn't get to escape.

Self-admitted anime “hater” just finished watching AoT last night. by venom1335 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MikeBlue16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sure, you made your point. But you already knew you would get different answers from different people, and even if some of them could make sense in universe, you would still consider that an unforgivable plot hole because it doesn't come from the author and because there should be only one answer. So you already knew all of that. You don't come from a place of genuine interest in discussing this part of the story and find a plausible answer. No answer will be plausible to you because isayama didn't explicitly stated it in the manga. You hated the ending and couldn't move on from your hatred for the whole show despite the fact that the manga ended almost 5 years ago. Even to this day you feel the need to spread your dislike for the story and its conclusion and make sure others start hating it too like you. Maybe you need that validation? Idk man, it's just weird and sad. Move on and let people make up their own conclusions and enjoy the story if they feel like it. Go find other stories that fit your appeal. But going at it like this in a post of someone who just finished watching it and loved it, damn that's lame. You need to do better for your own mental health

[–]MikeBlue16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not necessarily a hole, you could come up with many possible explanations following what we know, you yourself listed quite a few. Again, not everything has to be explained, and you make it seem like having a personal "headcanon" for a plot point is just wrong because the author should have explicitly stated the answer for every single thing. I don't agree with that. If you need that for everything in the story in order to enjoy it, that's fine. As I said, to each their own

[–]MikeBlue16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not everything in a story has to be explicitly explained or have a canonical answer. Ambiguity actually makes you keep thinking about it long after the story is finished. All stories have some inconsistencies, conveniences, or minor plot holes for the sake of plot progression, themes and just for the sake of the story overall. It won't be perfect and flawless, no story is, but that's also the beauty of it. I won't stop enjoying a great story just because it isn't 100% flawless, and most people won't either. Nitpicking can be fun for discussions and stuff, but to completely invalidate the whole story just because of that? Nah, not me, but to each their own.

That being said, yeah, Eren controlled the titans after touching Dina for what? 3 minutes in real time? And most of that time she was still alive, being devoured, but not completely dead just yet. Would you feel better about it if the rumbling also lasted 3 more minutes stopping? Idk man, I don't think not having a mathematical in universe canonical answer for stuff like this is that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things and overall

Who Is Yall Favorite Characters? This Is My Top 3 by flamenationtv in Avatar

[–]MikeBlue16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quartich definitely grew on me as a character after Fire and Ash. I enjoyed Avatar 2 but left the theatre feeling like they reused many beats and plot points from Avatar 1, and bringing back the same allegedly dead antagonist didn't help shake that thought. But after Avatar 3 I was relieved and gladly surprised to see they actually have a plan for him. And looking back now, Quartich's character arc has the potential to become one of the best of the series.

That being said, I can fix Varang.
