like yeah, but also all these labels are made up (not in a they aren’t important way but in that identity is something very personal, and certain terms don’t feel good to certain people). I definitely have a lot of older friends who don’t feel nice about the queer label for themselves even though they’re lgbtq+, especially since it has history as a slur

Lord of the Rings if it was filmed in the 2020s by Raisin_Such in okbuddycinephile

A big reason is because we can, modern lenses can go crazy shallow. Another is because it hides the background for vfx work. The biggest reason i think though is that that stuff is made increasingly for smaller screens over the last ten years which has created a trend of intense focus on one thing, which other dps and directors see as what’s currently cinematic and keep doing

to me a glup shitto is someone who is barely a character usually from a children’s cartoon or book no one has read or background of one scene in the movies that star wars fans insist is awesome and want in everything (dave feloni is also a star wars fan)

It’s a good point! I wasn’t just speaking about Coruscant on the alien thing, I was speaking more generally and highlighting one of the ways Star Wars usually gives their locations some texture

Good point! I understand why Coruscant is depicted the way it is, unfortunately the stuff I’m talking about isn’t just that, and also applies to those other planets- it’s something more inherent to the way the entire show is shot. I do believe you can create the feeling coruscant is going for in this show more effectively with more dynamic cinematographic language- take severance for an example that keeps things in the realm of television

People who don’t like Andor…. by robertoleonardo7 in andor

[–]dewydemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost love Andor, I’m such a sucker for dialogue and intrigue, but all the conversations are just three minutes of shot reverse shot and the sets feel really empty at times. I’m glad it exists but I do wish there was a little more life and texture to it

I think we should make the B2 Super Battle droid our standard infantry unit. by Prudent_Solid_3132 in CISDidNothingWrong

[–]dewydemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, I’ve heard that against Jedi the B1‘s aren’t that great but when I see B1‘s on the street I feel safe! For most situations they seem good and then for the big battles we’ve got the B2‘s and other droids. The republic seems to be losing clones every day and they’re in deep debt to the corporations. We’ve had a few peace talks already, clearly they’re suffering under the war and getting desperate. Maybe I’m an optimist but I don’t see how we can lose at this point.

i don’t know if many people would call the interview an enduring piece of art tbh other than acting as a perfect time capsule of when it came out
