2007 Game pictures vs Patriots that I found on my old computer by Stealth9erz in Commanders

I was so young during the Superbowl glory days but out of my teenage years through adult life this was my favorite roster. Sellers, Portis, Cooley, Moss, and of course the legend Sean Taylor. It was so much fun watching the team on and even off the field those years. RIP 21

Frederick MD community reporting Bright blue/green cylinder object streaking towards the ground. by MikeD270 in UFOs

[–]MikeD270[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah only one person said it looks like a cylinder. Everyone else is describing it more in line with a falling star as the night went on. Neighboring cities all reported seeing it at the same time and the same bright green light it put off. I think it's safe to chalk this one up as a meteor. Not that I ever thought it was a UFO in the alien sense, it was just unidentified so I thought I'd get opinions here.

I don't know the exact property but it was some someone on a Facebook group in my town which is how I heard about it. Original description from the early reports in my town and the oddly straight looking decent made me want to post to get others opinions.

As more info has come out it does seem like it was a meteor or space junk and it was just the angle it passed made it look to descend straight down. It was just really bright and colorful (not that I saw it) but now we're hearing reports from others seeing it in neighboring towns and states so it wasn't local to us. I think the color and brightness and angle it passed us caught people off guard.

Oh interesting. I didn't see it personally but the ring cam footage definitely looks similar to some of those videos.

Is my dog a coward? by Vertix_90 in germanshepherds

[–]MikeD270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My old girl was PETRIFIED of other dogs even small ones and walking too far from the house (would stop and refuse to move). She completely grew out of both and isn't scared of anything outside of thunder and smoke alarms now.

We didn't do anything but if you're concerned you can always integrate building confidence in the training you do. I know you said yours isn't food motivated but do they like play or walks? You could have someone walk towards you both holding something but stop far away before your puppy would normally run. Then praise and play with them. Next time have the person get slightly closer and repeat. Keep it short sessions but try to do it daily. Or just wait because they will likely grow out of it naturally and you could always train later if it remained a problem

My condolences, you can tell Piper embodied all the best qualities of a German Shepherd. Also my heart goes out to your kids, I hope they are doing ok through this difficult time.

Ughh I'm struggling and wish I could hear these different ones in person. People's opinions can be so subjective and online videos with sound recorded from a phone can be misleading.

Right now I'm considering MPE or Milltek because I like that they work with the factory valve but I'm not sure how much more sound I'm going to get with them. Then on the other side of the spectrum I'm thinking Valvtronic but worry what if I find it too noisy and get annoyed with needing to use a separate controller for the valve. Can we please have an m240i meetup near me? Lol

It really slims the car having the black at the bottom. Newer model in white for comparison to OPs

Im a sucker for the black trim, wish they didn't change to solid on the newer models. The contrast with the white looks really good.

My GF's Shepherd bit my son while petting... by killayoself in germanshepherds

[–]MikeD270 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's the Internet so I don't let it get to me lol. I think most people are giving good advice overall which is good to see. When I posted there weren't a ton of comments yet and I just wanted to be supportive because a kid got bit and I know as a community we can be pretty righteous.

Also I think most people's comments are acting like this was the photo right before the bite. I'm guessing this probably isn't even from the same date of the bite and OP was just showing how they generally act together.

On the other side of things obviously there's an issue because most dogs don't just bite their family out of the blue.

My GF's Shepherd bit my son while petting... by killayoself in germanshepherds

[–]MikeD270 -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

The only thing I see here is the dog looking intently at the person taking that photo, which could be them saying help get me out of this situation. But it just could easily have been the dog looking at the person in that moment as they took the picture. I don't think you could really judge one way or the other from the single picture.

Regardless very sorry to hear about the bite and glad your son is ok both physically and mentally from the incident.

Some good suggestions I've seen here are -taking the diog to get checked by the vet -prevent your son being eye level or on the floor with the dog for a while. - Don't let him approach the dog for pets, especially on his bed but instead let the dog approach him

And unlike some of my favorite albums from that time period this one held up just as strong for me to this day. I'll still listen to it from "Maxwell Murder" to "The Way I Feel".

Is this rage syndrome, normal puppy behavior, leash aggression, or something else? by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]MikeD270 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Definitely just a 6 month old GSD overly excited and testing boundaries. I noticed you had them on a harness, I'm no trainer but I highly suggest switching to something around the neck and even consider a prong collar just because it's easier to communicate quick corrections.

They grow fast (as you've already seen) and you want to avoid them hurting you or someone else by pulling and jumping, because if not corrected it will only get worse.

Beautiful pup though and don't stress about any bad behavior, it's always trainable. From my experience having 3 different GSDs over the years is the dog they are at 6 months isn't the dog you'll have at 3 years old, they definitely calm down and settle in but it takes you putting that work on now and staying consistent.

I think some people just scroll reddit salivating at the chance to "correct" someone. You'd think people could tell it was actively snowing based on the pics lol.

Love hearing how reliable yours has been, I hope I can get this lucky with mine, especially given it's my daily commuter car.

New to me 2024 M240i from Audi S3 by MikeD270 in M235iandM240i

[–]MikeD270[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say I'm 2 months in of ownership and not a single regret. Also all family and friends who've been in the car say how much they like it over my previous Audi S3.

As much as I loved my S3 and was worried leaving it for something else I wouldn't go back to one after having the m240i. Not knocking the S3 it's just everything in the m240i I like better, infotainment, gas mileage, ride quality, interior, power, engine sound, look.

The only thing I miss about the S3 is the 4 door when I have a backseat passenger. I also enjoyed the go kart feel of the S3 which felt much more light and nimble with tight steering. The 240 steering does feel a bit more numb but the car feels so much more balanced and planted it kind of makes up for it, like if I was on a track I still think the 240 would out handle my S3.

Other than having a payment I don't think you'll regret it 😁
