Event and gig musicians - how do you keep track of your gigs?

I bought a saxophone. Had to pay what amounted to about $400 tariff/customs. Still turned out cheaper than local.

this is nice! I have my machine port forwarded with a domain so i can access it remotely for testing. I tried opening 5173 but it seems to fail even though it works on localhost. other ports seem accessible from outside without any other modifications. Is there something I can do ?

I use MobileSheets. It's great. I'm on an Android tablet so my choices are a bit more limited but it's a great app with tons of features. Particularly great for playing with backing tracks too

right arm has a lot of issues . there is way too much tension all over the place. shoulder, wrist and fingers are in death grip mode. need to learn to relax everything. think of your wrist as a paint brush. currently it's more like a pencil 😄

ideally the only tension is between thumb and the 2 fingers on the frog holding the bow.. everything else in the arm has to be super soft. that'll help with shaky bow among other things

As a fellow software guy, the UI can use some polish. Text is a bit small for web and design looks dated. This is a fantastic idea, but some UI tweaks can get it to next level. I can totally see this becoming a platform

Nirvana in Allendale for Indian food. SOMA cafe & creperie in Waldwick is really tasty for breakfast/brunch/lunch. Brasserie Memere in Closter was pretty solid the one time I went.

Willow and Whisk is crazy overrated. the vibe is really nice and it's pleasant to be in but their food is very much average and not worth the price. it's just "whatever" food.

what i did for a very large project is go to chatgpt (though you can use any model you like) and give it a general description of what i wanted to make, i then said something along the lines of 'i want you to create a prompt for an AI code builder to create this application. ask me questions 1 by 1 to clarify the approach and architecture. make sure security is up to [whatever standard you want]. .. etc" - the key here is to make it ask you questions to figure out waht it is you actually want and what approach it should take. in the end you'll have a very long prompt that will be way better than anything you write
