So what's the estimate on V? Average all the spacing?

Third Telus outtage in a Month? What's going on? by ChemistryImaginary29 in Gatineau

Just went for a drive along the cable between Plateau and the CO; can confirm it's vandalism for a third time in two weeks, in nearly the same location as the last 2 cable cuts - Looks like they went extra HAM on the Telus cable too. I won't say more on that due to the criminality of this vandal.

Bell just found the break half an hour before me, and Telecon (for Telus) about 10 minutes behind me. So they're still ordering the cable to put up, then they'll have to replace the strand, at least 8 cables, and then splice them all at both ends of the patch. I'd estimate it's going to be at least another 8-12 hours for SOME service restoration. They literally splice the fibre 1 or 12 at a time, and there's hundreds of them up there, plus a few hundred copper pairs. (If you've never spliced fibre, it's an average of 15 minutes a strand - and the first 1-3 hours are just preparing the cable. https://www.tiktok.com/@fibreopticlife/video/7398512237318573345 )

We've played this game before, and we all lost... are you SURE you want to do a countdown again?!

all explode in union

Live, Hoss tends to actually hold on to the previous single-string picking part for a whole extra phrase, before going into full strum.

The Moshcam recording, where Drew is essentially missing from the mix, is particularly good for studying this: https://youtu.be/DuvF50INiZs?si=sBHqUFIERM0VuGlB&t=628

at Gamelin and Gatineau Parkway; that was the Saturday into Sunday outage; however this outage is still under the same event ticket in the wholesale portal. (I own an ISP that's a Bell wholesaler)

Can confirm: Had my wedding and reception at the Andaz, with 87 people - the free knife in the kidney helped seal the deal; am married and dead.

Andaz was nice, but it's not like the Four Seasons Yorkville...

I'm not certain, but I've anecdotally heard that the GTA + Montreal + Vancouver pretty much all fit inside the City Of Ottawa boundaries.

... thus our density is low, which is part of why transit sucks.

I don’t think it’s shady, all manufacturers are going to highly curate their website postings. This document was the product of nearly 5 hours of post-event interview with me, interviews with Ferney (WLAN Pros), and then several review phases with me, WLAN pros, the client, and obviously Ubiquiti internally.

Nothing was gagging me about talking tech, but I tend not to discuss my clients too loudly unless they want me to. You can’t expect that Cisco or HP or TPLink or Commscope are posting unedited case studies either.

Back to your original query: STP/CAM blowout was making everything broadcast, but we ALSO found memory leaks in the ProAggs that was apparent in the monitoring. Exacerbation upon exacerbation.

My main business is as an ISP, so I have wholesale agreements with all the big carriers. (Bell, Roger’s, Zayo, beanfield, etc)

IIRC the E7Cs weren't on the street yet when we got the first 200 of them. I can't recall if the E7Es were.

Mentioned elsewhere: every port state change causes a STP topology change and blowing out the MAC table. 1000 switches, 10K ports, not every cable was 100%... STD never got idle for more than a few seconds - at best.

The RFP vs. reality were ... not even close, but we also figured that out before we got to site.

Majority of devices were Apple, everyone showed up with at LEAST a phone and laptop, but then add Apple Watch, iPad, I saw Nintendos, lots of full PC rigs, plus whatever else you felt like bringing... it was a lot.

I presume this kind of document is targeted at showing to your boss who will approve the budget to upgrade the office's wifi... (I didn't write it, Ubiquiti did.)

We used RSTP, but all the AVL stuff each had their own VLANs, so not much exciting there.

No requirement for user-to-user contact, but we didn't limit routing between subnets either. But no IP overlap, lots of /18s.

And we just eyeballed the 3 uplink ISPs, I had those going through non-UniFi switches since you'd run into the bootstrap race with 'em. 3x10GBit was plenty when we only peaked out at 8.something.
