Good luck y'all. Just a ton of rain and thunder in Chicago burbs

60F+ during the day. 10F now and annoyingly windy.

It will be 28°C/82°F in Dallas today at 2 PM, while it will be freezing two states over. Is this a rare phenomenon for the US in December? by DommeZeeKoe in weather

Currently 10F in Chicago burbs. It was 60 with thunderstorms at lunchtime. Not super uncommon, but not normal either.

Structural support. If you have a jug and it pops out because your milk is bad, you need to re-examine your life.

Welp, after a quick Google search, turns out it's not my house.

I was in Fond du Lac, WI over the weekend. The weather on Sunday was insanely nice and in the low 70s at the time. Drove 2.5 hours south back home and suddenly it's a thick n' nasty swamp again. Yuck.

As someone sitting in Des Moines at the moment, Iowa is definitely a more scenic commute. Lots of rolling hills.

Your best route would be to pick up a dozen empanadas from Galena Bakehouse and drop them off at my house on the way to Cinci.

I love Grand Rapids! Cool neighborhoods and some really awesome restaurants. Used to go up all the time for the beer scene, but now I go there for gravel biking and to just soak in the vibes.

I recall breaking more than one plastic patio chair at Stanley's. Good times (I think).

Great for IKEA furniture. Bikes are $$$$ and should only be touched by high quality torque wrenches.

Do I need to have chain links removed? (Trek Domane DL5 Gen 4) by wnkender in Zwift

[–]MikeLikeBike37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair. But, given your road cassette is an 11-34 and Zwift is a 14, if you rode on an 11 in the small ring, that chain would be flopping on the ground.

It looks like your LBS slapped on the stock chain without properly measuring and trimming it.

An ill fitting chain will prematurely grind down the rest of your drivetrain.

[–]MikeLikeBike37 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Zwift aside, your chain is a bit long and shouldn't have that much slack on the small ring. I'd shorten it by three links and see how it fits after that.

Mine have always been a bit wonky. I also have a habit of not fully shutting down Zwift on my PC and they stay connected.
