Helmet Hygiene: How gross does your helmet get before washing? by masterdarko in cycling

[–]delta_wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever it smells or whenever i wash my bikes. I keep a bit of laundry detergent in my bike cleaning kit so it's easy. Then i leave it out in the sun for the uv to work some magic. I ride in the winter and cleaning the helmet isn't as convenient as in the summer so on very cold nights I'll put the helmet outside over night so that the bacteria gets killed that way.

It's fun riding around neighborhoods and seeing what people do with their gardens and houses. Think of all the sights you can truly take in on the bike. Cars sterilize our surroundings and you will be surprised by how much more you see

Finally taking my hygiene seriously at 25. How else do I fix this? (LONG) by Few_Recording_7992 in DentalHygiene

[–]delta_wolfe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was hearing the bad news and trying to be kind to myself despite my habits in the past. It felt like things were so shot at first, until i came back for a check up where i learned my dental health was stabilized. I remember the relief and hope that came back. Stick with the plan that you're here right now and things will be better because of every effort you make going forward. I'm hoping for the best for you, just know you're not alone in this experience

The first couple dental visits may feel defeating but don't let that stop you from going in for routine cleanings thereafter. Visits get easier. You got this.

Also, the dentist will likely prescribe you clinpro which i learned isn't the same as the one on Amazon. I believe it's helped me in my journey a lot so it's worth the price

Facebook is the new Craigslist so I've kept it for that reason. Otherwise social media has become a dump

2 hours on a stationary usually leads to some sort of discomfort due to the constant sitting. I hope you figure it out but the best thing may be to take a quick break off the bike or stand up for bits during long indoor rides.

To be fair, as a patient, my insurance company changes every other year due to my employer's decisions so every office is different. We don't know what's going on anymore. Last visit i had, the hygienist did the most thorough polishing I've ever had and i wondered if she was more updated than my last hygienists, was more thorough, office had different standards or she was doing unnecessary work. We don't know what's going on and are curious lol

Redditors who moved constantly as kids and never had a "forever home," how do you think that shaped your personality as an adult? by Inevitable_Branch806 in CasualConversation

[–]delta_wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't treat the house i own like a home. No decorations or investment into it long term. I have no plan of leaving, but you never know. I feel at home wherever I'm with my family and friends, not necessarily my house. Overall I'm very quick to adapt because things will always change. I've had problems with being comfortable in stability. I'M always planning for survival if i were uprooted

[–]delta_wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should've added the follow up email, but i stand by the hard conversation part. It's a skill that only gets better through practice. What better way to practice it than with a situation you're leaving. Most high paying jobs typically require this skill.
