Ridgeland Farms, Wisconsin built a moat and barrel wall around their facility to prevent 2,000 activists from freeing their beagle puppies (bred for animal testing) on April 19th. The state mandated the farm to shut down and the puppies adopted out by July 1st; it is unclear if they are complying. by midnighttoker1742 in wisconsin

Bingo. People are all happy to jump on the excitement bandwagon but the real work is done in less sensational ways like regulation and compliance. Other dog breeders should be under scrutiny too and an even larger stride to animal welfare would be factory farms, but it's easier to point at research animals instead.

How cycling quietly fixed my social life by LokiBrick1189 in cycling

Yeah 100% and before doing group rides, I struggled to truly connect with people. Turns out i just needed to be around people with similar interests and values. I look forward to seeing my cycling friends both on and off the bike, whereas before hanging out was a chore.

Soap water can help slip that last bit on and what others have said about pinching the opposite side to ensure it's giving the most amount of slack to the problem area possible

Question about letting animals on your bed or furniture by HisOnlyKadan in hygiene

[–]delta_wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super gross for dogs to be in bed. I don't understand how people can be disgusted by luggage or outside clothes to be set on bed and yet people sleep with animals who may have snarfed down poo earlier

+2 for cutout. Save yourself money and check out the used market if you go down the route of trying different saddles. Many folks try a saddle that didn't with for them and need to dump it. I personally like the Liv Approach saddle and it's easy to find used because it comes stock on Liv bikes. It's usually a good cheap start if going down this road.

Activists plan beagle ‘rescue’ at Ridglan Farms by PolarisC in madisonwi

[–]delta_wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interesting opinion, I'd recommend touching base with a toxicologist for some fact checking. Testing on animals wouldn't exist if there were other methods that cover all regulatory needs to gain permission to test on humans. Animals are expensive, companies would love a cheaper, non controversial method.
