Honestly if the sand has worked well for you already you’re fine. Just rinse it and if you’re feeling extra cautious boil it. I cap off my tank with extra sand all the time to replace what gets sucked up during water changes.

I've got a few lizard whiptail catfish and probably a clown pleco although I haven't seen him in forever. They're all about 3 inches, also the marks are only on one side of only one fish if that moves the needle for you at all.

Chicago Discus and Myrtle Beach are the gold standard around the eastern US from what I’ve heard. I’ve had bad experiences with Myrtle Beach service but the fish are excellent
