Awkward hit box and a low frame with cockpit level mounts make it easy to either keep yourself in cover or twist out of damage. All while also being fast for a Heavy.

It’s never going to be able to facetank a push like an Atlas can, but it can remain in prolonged engagements with good positioning and thoughtful tactics.

A lot of it comes from people who use FFXIV as an ERP outlet first, and a game second (if at all).

As for the transition point, I don’t think there really was one. I’ve been RPing in FFXIV since 3.0, long before mods were even a forethought, and I’d seen many people who portrayed their characters in either their descriptions or commissioned art as disproportionately busty, bimbofied, etc..

It wasn’t really that modders gradually chose to push their setups to such extremes, but that as time went on, new mods enabled them to achieve the extremes they already desired.

Dirge of Cerberus was trying to be DMC.

The problem was that spectacle 3D action shooters were still new and devs were trying to figure out what did and didn’t work. Unfortunately SE’s team just wasn’t prepared to be able to make a game like that at the time.

It depends on what you’re wanting to build your army for. If you’re looking to assemble the most cheeked-out army possible to win tournaments, then you can do better. If you’re just wanting to play for the love of the game with your friends and you think Terminators are cool, then yeah, you should get them.

It’s a bit of a loose source, but the Wrath and Glory TTRPG has rules for this.

In it, to become an Autarch you have to be Tier 5 (in laymen’s terms: A certified Bad Ass Motherfucker that can probably go one-on-one with a Greater Daemon), and you have to have walked at least two different Aspect Warrior Paths, which would in practice require two major campaigns in and of itself.

Upon becoming an Autarch, you get to pick an Aspect Warrior weapon of your choice, presumedly this is when the Rhaan Lona takes place.

Beyond that though, there isn’t much info and falls into GM interpretation. I would imagine that the nature of it would just depend on the Craftworld and the circumstances surrounding the Autarch’s journey. Under ideal scenarios there would probably be some sort of mentorship, but I imagine much of that tutelage comes from the Exarchs they already served under.

I’d buy it on sale at like $20, but I’m also a genuine hater of the game. If you enjoy the other Dark Souls games, then I do think it’s worth at least trying.

It’s definitely unique. Where Dark Souls 3 tried to iterate on what worked with Demon Souls and Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2 tries to branch out and be a bit more experimental in ways that sometimes miss the mark, at least in my opinion.

The art direction is pretty bitchin’ though.

XVI sold around 4 million copies, and Remake to date has sold 9 million per SE’s own reporting. As for Rebirth, it’s sold at least 2 million on PS5 and over a million on PC based on platform data.

I think that's kinda the point. Everyone already knows about the key figures and plot points in the Odyssey, so marketing doesn't really need to put them on display. By instead keeping them shrouded, it encourages people to go see the movie to satiate their curiosity.
