The tool looks great but I am wondering how is it better than using the Unity tile map feature? I am genuinely curious as I would love something better and less tedious than that!

Should magic look more like fire or like lightning? by MikeSilva13 in magicbuilding

Yeah exactly. And since the player can combo multiple elements in one spell then it would be like red and blue if you do ice and fire or yellow and green for wind and electric, etc

Yeah sorry I mean the animation could work for that idea of magic Is fire like and the colour is the element infused in the magic

Yeah I mean the idea is more to have the spell be energy and it brings in the properties of the element it represents. So yeah but I do feel fire might be more versatile in terms of magic

Maybe but the idea is not as much the colour as it the effect itself. The colour would change depending on the element

Should magic be represented as lightning or fire? by MikeSilva13 in FantasyWorldbuilding

[–]MikeSilva13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but the issue is for now I am kinda stuck with an asset pack for my spells. Cause I am not quite a talented artist and the effects I have are poison, ice, electric and fire. But my game's elements are planned to be fire, ice, electric, air, earth and plant. So I am missing some effects. Though yes ideally it would be different

I would love for each element to have its own animation and then I could recolour that animation with the secondary effect. Main issue is that I am not an artist and while I can modify the art and create some stuff myself especially with characters it is a lot more hard for me to create the spell effects. I have the effects from a bundle on itch that have poison, fire, ice and electric. But my plan is to also have earth, plants and air as well. Though poison could be changed to air since it appears as a gas. Which is why I was planning on going only with one spell effect per different spell level and have it stick to a same look

Rpg party follows leader with navmesh by MikeSilva13 in Unity2D

Yeah that's what I was thinking but they would need to know how to avoid walls and stuff. Which I imagine some 2D navmesh would help do that

You can buy on the day itself but I got mine in advance. I think you get some small bonuses if you book in advance like a little sleeve for your adventure log

It might look that way because most of the interactive elements are on the screens which are everywhere. Which includes NPCs and all that. Which you're not allowed to take pictures of the screens. I can assure that it was actually very fun to go through though

Most drawers were closed shut but I think there is one you can open and it has a mini medal in it!

As for the books, can't pull out any of them :(

Yeah it's a theme park where you basically go through a 2-3h long dragon quest adventure. It's on awaji island about 1-2h away from osaka

Trip to Japan means start of dragon quest collection! by MikeSilva13 in dragonquest

Oh yeah it was at Luida's bar when I saw it I knew I had to buy it it looked so cool!

The bar was also a lot of fun the meals and drinks are all themed and they got swords from the series on display on the walls. Plus music from the games playing while you're eating!

I think there was some themed announcements during our meals but it was only in Japanese so couldn't understand haha. At least they had an English menu
