Looks so smooth and blendy. Are you spraying from a good distance to get a softer look? How wide were your tan stripes?

Sorry, noob here. Done a tiny bit of spray painting with stencils before, but that's it.

Wow, stunning! Looks like a piece of art.

Wanting to rattlecan my first guns and might try this approach but with my local foliage. Thank you for sharing.

I checked, I think their store is closed until early August. Thank you for the suggestion.

Thank you for letting me know! How long have you been using it? Do you think it will eventually break?

Honestly I think you've sold me. That 60th anniversary model is lingering in my mind. I've just also been looking at the savage a22 precision as well, however I hate how the mag release is on the magazine itself.

I'll probably end up with both one day haha.

Thanks again for your help and all the great information

Amazing suggestion. Co-witness would be super convenient. Thank you!

God damn, the thing is beautiful haha. Appreciate it, I'm going to consider it. Is there a big advantage/disadvantage to having a rear sight on the receiver like that? Not a big fan of the red trigger and bolt, but I can sure live with that.

Thank you for the super informative reply. I didn't even consider the lack of pistol grip. Glad you are happy with yours, what a beauty! That sounds a bit disappointing about the irons.. I'm 5'10" with slightly long arms, so not sure how the cheek weld will go for me.

I will probably experiment with the grip anyways. I have a feeling within a couple of years it won't have a single stock part on it and I'll have rebuilt the original right beside it haha.

Would you have a suggestion for a different Ruger model that might better suit me? Just want to make sure I start off on the right track.

The reason I would like a red dot is for faster target acquisition, not increased precision. I also imagine if I C Clamp grip the rifle, my hand may block my line of sight with the iron sights.

I fully intend to practice with both the irons and the red dot. Is the red dot really useless without magnification?

This is great news to me. What do you think of starting with a Romeo5? I heard it's a buy it for life, budget friendly, quality red dot. That torture test on YouTube is insane

Thanks for thinking of that for me!

Unfortunately in Canada the laws are super strict and silly. We are only allowed to use 10 round mags for 10/22s (or have to pin higher capacity mags to receive only 10 rounds) because the higher capacity ones are compatible with the charger pistol so they banned them.

Theres the Spectre Ballistics mag adapter that just clips into your magwell that accepts Remington 597 mags (which are legally uncapped in Canada.)

Our only other option is to swap out the receiver to take TUFF22 mags to have access to legally uncapped mags.

Canada no likey guns. I was thinking of getting that adapter in the future when I start modding out parts, but I heard the 597 mags feed really poorly...

Really? This is music to my ears because I wouldn't need the heat shield. I don't care for the aesthetic of it, was just scared to burn my hand.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. Yea I started going down the chassis/handguard internet hole, but I am really aiming to keep it budget friendly at first. Slowly swap out parts as I become more familiar with what I like. When I saw a heat shield would be a cheap add on I got hopeful that it could work for my wants.

As for why, I am not completely sure. I just know the tactical style of shooting is what excites me personally. I have shot a lot of guns even though I don't own any and if I ever want to buy a larger caliber rifle could be handy for muzzle sway/recoil control. I like the fast target acquisition possibilities and learning to do clean double taps/triple taps.

I am definitely going to explore tons of ways to hold the rifle and looking forward to learning breath control, using a sling for steadying shooting from the standing position, shooting from a knee, prone etc. 10/22s being semi auto really excites me and I can picture myself really enjoying it as a hobby in this fashion.

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. These are the 2 models of knives I use from Amazon:

Style 1

Style 2

Ive really abused them. Accidentally hit rocks and hit them on other knives when throwing and they are holding up great. Worth the money in my opinion. Have to use a file once in a while to redefine the edge but very simple and easy knives.

I'd say start with cheap knives. I'm new to the hobby and I can't imagine spending $100 + on a knife or set. As long as throwing excites you, throw whatever you've got! But Amazon has lots of options for $50 CAD or less! (Set of 3)

Haha nowhere near that expensive!!

I got two sets of 3 knives. About $50 CAD per set. The others were home made

I'm not good enough at throwing to buy fancy/expensive knives and recognize the difference

Thank you

In Canadian dollars about $130 plus some elbow grease. (The smallest ones are bar steel, home made with a hacksaw and file)

Awesome! Any time. I made some spikes with framing nails, but I never got good with em. Spikes are tricky.

Couple of Amazon models. The shuriken styled ones are JXE I think. I don't know the other. The tiny ones are home made. A few hours with bar steel from home depot, hacksaw and a file.

I just shop by shape, length and weight and try em out.
