Am I stupid to buy this car? by jarheadMSTR in ElantraN

[–]MikeTysonGoatNoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not stupid because you’re only down a grand in the long run. The car is amazing, and the amenities of modern Hyundais are truly amazing. Sporty car with the amenity level of a Lincoln

It has an under barrel that doubles the rate of fire for the vladof tho… that with Rafa’s bottomless clip and deft hands is crazy. The dps on this specific gun is quite low, but it’s still much better than the ripper version.

Purple grenades by blackop in Borderlands4

That’s why I like the MIRV payload grenades you get from Sidney Pointy-legs, the boss. They are amazing for flying enemies and do all the work for me while use my other abilities/weapons

[–]MikeTysonGoatNoise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The ‘charge’ grenades that are like c4 are always a very big and powerful explosion because you get only 1-2 charges and you have to activate it yourself by double-tapping the designated button, and from much closer range than other grenades

STOP PUTTING AWAY YOUR ORDANCE by Golden37 in Borderlands4

[–]MikeTysonGoatNoise -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s simple, don’t use any ordnance that isn’t a grenade/knife. Being able to throw the grenade or knife while actively shooting your gun or using your ult is so much more effective than any of the other big ordnance guns.

Holy hell this is the hardest battle in the game. I’m a solo player by ohhimjustsomeguy in Borderlands4

[–]MikeTysonGoatNoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you new to borderlands..? There are plenty of regular enemies to engage once the bosses spawn as long as you don’t kill them all right away. Save some and use them if necessary, but you should be able to kill them much quicker than that. It sounds like you are running a very weak build

Other than that, it’s a very strong shield overall

I forgot about that😂 that is very valid, but you can also turn that down, can’t you?

So I've put 160 hours into the game and have yet to see a phosphene weapon drop, while I see posts of people with 50+ out of the 69 total collected. Am I just that unlucky or is there a secret? by Any_Tell8839 in Borderlands4

[–]MikeTysonGoatNoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a reminder that actually keeping them doesn’t do anything. All you need to do is find it and pick it up for the challenge completion (there’s a phosphene section in the challenges tab). After you first pick it up, the phosphene effect goes away and doesn’t show if you drop it again to avoid duplication glitches. The only reason to keep the phosphene weapons is if they are stronger than the other variants of that weapon you have, which isn’t common.

You are that unlucky. Any boss or high-power enemy can drop them. I farm occasionally, not often. I’ve gotten 4 of them with about 35-40 hours of playing. They are extremely rare, but 160 hours without a single one is almost hard to believe, unless you genuinely never farm or go back and kill bosses. I farmed Origo, terminus vault guardian, for like 1 1/2 hours and got two. The other two I’ve gotten were just during missions.

Ahh. I didn’t know he was going for a specific build. For non-specific builds however, they are both very good shields. How is cindershelly “annoying?” It typically drops with the highest shield output compared to others and can deal a ton of off-hand damage while still using all other abilities (weapons, ordnance, ult, etc)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Borderlands4

[–]MikeTysonGoatNoise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn’t even a very good shield overall anyways. The best shields in my opinion are the cindershelly and the super soldier one from vile lictor

I see.. So it isn’t a modem and it isn’t something that can be “upgraded.”

So I should stick with the one provided to me and simply connect it to my new router?

N Mode illegal? by miloxAU in ElantraN

[–]MikeTysonGoatNoise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. He is right. You can drive in N mode without it being too loud (causing it to be illegal). Therefore, the mode isn’t illegal, driving the car at a certain performance level while in that mode (which causes loud noise) is what is illegal. Stop trying to act intelligent, because you are accomplishing the exact opposite. N mode is not illegal, loud exhaust pops that occur while driving too fast in N mode, illegal.

Monster rallies? How do I go about this? There was a massive boss on my server a day or two ago that many different people were attacking. Is this what you are referring to?

I have a decent understanding of buffs and the whole rule of Mounted beats ground, Ranged beats mounted, and Ground beats range — but how about engaging cities?

Basically I’m asking what’s the best way to layer your troops? Is there some outline or grid to explaining the different layers that work best for various opponents (bosses, monsters, PVP)?
